Woo hoo! AK47!

Well this sucks. I'm down in Kansas city and just heading over to the father in laws and I talked to him on the phone. He has a full auto SKS. My wife was mistaken. Oh well, at least it's auto! And some 25 rnd clips to boot!

And on a side note, an SKS (Befor the auto conversion) is 4-500 bucks down here!

Damn expensive, up here(northern tier U.S.) sks's are selling for about $200 which is about $150 more than they are worth, IMO

Isn't a full auto SKS just one that has been messed with until it bump fires out of control with a pull of the trigger?

I have never seen a registered select fire sks(type 56) nor any type 68's down here. But who knows?
I would probably end this thread with a "prank call-prank call, nothing to see here !" :)

I don't why many ppl has mistakenly called the Type 63 as 68 :(........

Anyways, the Type 63 is NOT just a selective-fire Type 56/SKS........

Either way, I don't think it's a good choice because during the production run the factory that produce the Type 63 had made some changes during the product run, and some of which turned this otherwise decent weapon into a POS........

It's my understanding that unless the AK is full auto it really does not need the heavier milled receiver.

They don't need a milled receiver for full auto either. Stamped sheet metal works just fine and is cheeper, just ask the romanians.

That's pricy for a SKS anywhere in the States. And the only people that sell 'converted' full auto SKS rifles are the ones that are unphased by the threat of doin' federal time with a large gentleman named 'bubba' for a cellmate.

Actually down there full auto is legal. Not all guns and not for everyone. And the full auto mod for SKS is a 2-min mod you can do on the kitchen table. And no, I won't tell you how, so don't bother PM'ing me. I don't feel like getting kicked off here. Anyone that knows how a gun works could do it. I wouldn't bother here, not cool enough to risk jail time for.

That's a fact.

I haven't seen any pictures in this thread ... here is my NIB Norinco type 56S-1 :)

Yea last time we spent a whole afternoon shootingoff his porch. Ammo is so cheap down there. Probly shot off 100 boxes of ammo between 5 of us and 20 or so guns. It sure is nice shooting with hi cap mags....especially the M1 garand with the 10 rnd clip that fires out the top of the rifle when it's empty...

Ammo prices skyrocketing.
Last week in NY, box of (20) Corbon .45ACP @ $29.95USD
And the shelves have many bare spots (empty spaces) :(

Ammo is expected to TRIPLE over the next 18 months. Now more than ever is the time to get into reloading!
