Picking up pistol brass

I am wondering what you guys/gals use to pick up your fired pistol?
I am 57 years old and hate crawling around trying to retrieve my fired brass. Thanks
 
I have used the item I call old fart pickup tool. I believe it is for garbage and stuff but I can pickup a aaa battery with it. I bought it for $10 at Fields. I would use that unless I shot 300 in a session. Some hot loads will stick to the tarp. Actually melt it.
 
Usually the first 20minutes at the range is picking up brass. People seem to be lazy. Then I shoot and pick up as much as makes sense and go home. It’s usually a shopping bag and bonus when someone leaves a couple of boxes of once fired factory hunting rifle cases behind. They usually put them back in the box and leave it for someone that will appreciate it. I have enough rifles, it will probably match something.
 
If you go barefoot, you can pick up shells with your toes lol

It’s a crappy job bending over but that’s how I do it.

I’ve seen those rollers but then you pick up the stuff you don’t want. That equals more sorting.

Waste of money unless you are on a concrete pad or indoors, I was stupid enough to buy one. I have been competing in various shooting disciplines since 1986 and I still pick up my brass (and hate doing it). I get the impression that when shooting action style matches that todays younger generation has more discretionary income these days, enabling them to skip picking up brass that I did when I was their age.

My buddy bought one and it works just great. The one I bought on Amazon not so much. Granted, the one on amazon is intended for picking acorns and other nuts. I use mine for picking acorns and it works just fine. I'm guessing that they might be slightly different.

You should consider rigging up a fine mesh net on a mike stand or some other gooseneck floor stand.... catch the brass before they hit the ground.

Here's a readymade bench top setup... looks pretty easy to fabricate with some basic tools and supplies..... :)

I made one of these years ago with 1/2" PVC water pipe and fittings from TSC and used a mesh laundry bag as the net. If I can find it I'll post some pictures, I haven't used it in a long time as I don't run any semi auto these days.
