I'm older and ok with doing it; just look at it as an exercise for your back and core.I am wondering what you guys/gals use to pick up your fired pistol?
I am 57 years old and hate crawling around trying to retrieve my fired brass. Thanks
Waste of money unless you are on a concrete pad or indoors, I was stupid enough to buy one. I have been competing in various shooting disciplines since 1986 and I still pick up my brass (and hate doing it). I get the impression that when shooting action style matches that todays younger generation has more discretionary income these days, enabling them to skip picking up brass that I did when I was their age. This works … Lee valley and others sell the nut rake
My buddy bought one and it works just great. The one I bought on Amazon not so much. Granted, the one on amazon is intended for picking acorns and other nuts. I use mine for picking acorns and it works just fine. I'm guessing that they might be slightly different.Waste of money unless you are on a concrete pad or indoors, I was stupid enough to buy one. This is my move . I use an old bedsheet thrown on the outdoor range so I dont loose any brass.I have been considering taking a tarp and laying it out, providing there is no one else shooting beside me
I made one of these years ago with 1/2" PVC water pipe and fittings from TSC and used a mesh laundry bag as the net. If I can find it I'll post some pictures, I haven't used it in a long time as I don't run any semi auto these days. You should consider rigging up a fine mesh net on a mike stand or some other gooseneck floor stand.... catch the brass before they hit the ground.
Here's a readymade bench top setup... looks pretty easy to fabricate with some basic tools and supplies.....
