It seems from what I just read the PANEL did not come to a conclusion regarding the SKS .
But I would not trust the Communists at all !

I'm in the 'shoot it first and see' crowd. There's a lot of worrying over hypothetical stuff that OP doesn't even know is a problem yet. Hell, he might not even like it in the end.

I think its excellent at what its made for in general. Working all the time, in bad conditions, with minimal service. And hitting torso sized targets.

And I think its fun to shoot at realistic sized targets with that in mind. Quite a bit of fun, and with relatively cheap centerfire ammo too.

Big fan of having a solid defensive/service rifle around and it certainly is one, I just wish mounting optics was easier and the ergos were a touch better. but hey, it works!

i totally agree with you ! But i came from the Colt AR camp so pretty hard to compare the GREATNESS of a Colt AR to a POS sks ! JMO :p

They're good for what they are - a VERY reliable, reasonably lightweight, reasonably accurate semi-auto rifle firing a very versatile round.

At a hundred bucks each, buying a couple to keep "just in case" was a no-brainer. At current prices, it's still worth having one.
 
I thought there was member mentioning in this thread that they were looking for an SKS but going back over the pages I could not find it . It’s possible it was in another thread concerning SKS’s

Post some photos please, not sure what these plastic loaders are. I bought 25 stripper clips when I bought my SKS.
