Having sold off all my HK pistols, I've been dithering over which high-end 1911 to buy for months now. Considered Wilson, Kimber, Nighthawk, and STI. In the end, I decided to go with STI, for the product's overall good reputation, and also for the excellent customer service at Freedom Ventures. I ended up ordering two of them:

1) STI Tactical 4.15, hard chromed slide (in .45Auto)
2) STI USPSA Single-Stack (in .45Auto)

If I really end up liking one more than the other, then the one I like least will be up for sale. But, hopefully I like 'em both!

Both will be here early to mid May :dancingbanana:

He sold his H&K pistols: trust me, he has plenty of money left over. :D

HK pistols are stone-cold reliable. But, last spring, I picked up an STI Ranger II on a whim, and the results made me a believer. I shot it better than any HK I've owned, and I've owned them all. Still plan to pick up an HK 45 though :D

OKDave, you can't just jump in like that without consulting me first - you know how much I like the Tacticals. I suppose I could let you hold it for me for a while, though. Safekeeping and whatnot.

I'll end up with a Ranger II before the end of the summer. Before then a Comp'ed P9C calls my name. :)

Brad, I figured I was doing you a favor. Didn't you blow up your last .45? :p
