Brigade Makasi MK15 We're back in business!!

I like pretty much everything about it. Won't be doing the preorder though - I'll wait for the bugs to be worked out on the V2
The rifle has been on the market for 2 years now. I suspect that any evident bugs will have been worked out by now. Small Arms Solutions found no flaws with the design nor the manufacturing/assembly QC, and he went through it in detail with favourable results:

This rifle shows considerable promise at 7 lbs with a short-stroke piston operating system. That makes it MUCH lighter weight than the HK MR223 or Bushmaster ACR, and more on par with the CZ Bren 2. Reliability appears to be excellent and the ergonomics are well-considered - at least for the Right-handed firer.

I am in with the Bullseye deposit. If they ban it before it arrives, then so be it. If not, then it will make an interesting addition to the collection and will give me the means with which to deplete my hoarded ..223/5.56mm ammo supply....

Judging by the sheer numbers of pre-orders and the starting stock amounts each retailer seems to be offering, it looks like Brigade is tossing all their inventory at us. All receivers meant for their pistol line, 7.62 line is coming to us!

Makes sense as there might not be another shipment if the screeching hags at Poly catch wind...

Buy now or cry later.

I wouldn't sweat accuracy too much. It's likely a milspec barrel. It won't be a benchrest competition rifle.

However, if it stays solvent, you could upgrade to a competition barrel to get a little better performance out of it.
You are right! However these evaluators could at least give us an idea of what a factory rifle shoots like with some (ideal condition) sample groups.
For me, I probably would be less likely to buy a $ 2400, six moa rifle than a sub 2 moa one. But yeah, it's pretty standard (and expected) for a rifle of this type to shoot under 3moa (I hope). But guys like me want to know for sure! :)

Looks like Marstar got like 200 units, and most other retailers are in the 30-50 range. My math could be off but I'm been eyeing up stock levels. I think these will be eaten up quickly once word actually spreads, this is less than 24 hours after announcement...

The Small Arms Solution YT channel found it to be between 1.65 to 2.75 MOA with a 16" barrel.

The nice thing about the design is that it uses a lot of standard AR parts. Hopefully Brigade is willing to make more of the proprietary components and source the rest when they run out of their parts stores, if this doesn't get banned. I wonder if they could partner with anyone locally to build them here? I'm sure there are companies with shipping containers of AR components who would be happy to add them to a Brigade parts kit.

Interesting rifle, I wish I had the disposable income to purchase one.

Now it we want to be real for a second, taking into account the new political reality of a liberal "majority", I wouldn't be surprised if this never passed the pre-order stage.

I hope I'm wrong though, looks like a neat rifle

I'm stoked! I love everything about this rifle. The left side charging handle, folding stock, gas system. Should be sweet and has favorable reviews! The only thing I would change is I wish it had a slightly longer handguard... 14-15" would have been nicer than 12.

Can't wait! 😁

Unlikely any AR will be a 6 MOA rifle.

The architecture has inherent advantages like a free floated barrel and tight bolt lock up directly into the barrel extension (which the Makasi shares).

Even a rifle assembled from all budget AR components will do 2-3 MOA with plinking ammo. 2 MOA or better with match ammo. With that said, shooter skill, trigger, optic etc. still play roles. The rifle is only as good as the total system.

I actually tried this route with X95 and I don't recommend it. Horse cops reclassified my X95 as prohib while it was transitioning (pun intended) from R to NR. Because this process takes time. So I had to surrender it. Well, I gave them several pieces of receiver only, we had a good laugh with a cop, who was processing it. Even if I had confirmation of NR status, I would still have been harassed. Records about items you reclassified from R to NR or to Antique stay on your records FOREVER. I once requested my info and saw it all.

So, I would prefer the other option. Buy NR and horse cops will never know you had one, and even if banned at least you will have a chance to loose it in the boating accident or sell it to Mike.
I have probably reclassified more firearms then most people on this forum and including some of the very first R - NR makes and models and NEVER have i ever sent any info in to them as it was all part of the reclassification process (pics of everything to prove it yes) but once it was reclassofied and NR, it was and has always been off the books.
I could care less if they see i was the first to make a specific firearm R - NR. Doesn't matter cuz once it is NR all laws were followed to sell said firearms and nothing has ever stayed in my name

I don't quite understand what you mean you did not send the info?
The R was registered for you, that is their original info. Then you get in touch with the lab in regards of your "R, serial, registration cert, etc" and provide them with pictures of your changes to satisfy NR criteria. Then you wait. They remove it from your R list, but IF you get ATIP on your file, you will see that record of that R-NR change - they keep it, unlike info on the Rs you sold. I know some ppl who changed X95 from R to NR were contacted by RCMP, and I know some were not. Given the track record of our gov I understand why many try to avoid ANY records.

How it looks with the 12" handguard and 18.6" barrel
