How to buy 308 win ammo for as cheap as possible

I was running norinco 308, it mushroomed my firing pin eventually. Sanded off the witness marks and I run it again. Its cheap if you can find it.

Norma, Norinco, s&b, pmc are your friends.

Ammobin.ca lists .308 under 7.62 NATO. Don't forget those calibers are interchangeable.

Scour the equipment exchange, town post, gun post for ads. Buy privately if possible, make offers. Same as everyone else. No rocket science to it.

For kamlooky and NZClaybuster, I sure hope you two aren't serious with what you both posted. Only scum would be going after widows after their husbands have passed to find out what firearms they had and probably offer low ball prices. I've dealt with these types before with firearms and fishing equipment.

Obviously they are talking "tongue in cheek"...... but seriously keep your ears open for estate, divorce or bankruptcy sales. People will sell below market value when they just need to sell something fast. I know it sounds predatory and exploitative but sometimes people just want to be rid of the guns that they did not want in the first place. Don't extreme low ball, but offer something on the lower end of the price range if the seller doesn't know what they have. If the seller states a very low sell price, be honest and offer them a bit more than what they are asking... you still get a good deal and the seller will probably be very happy. I have been fortunate twice when buying from an estate and both times the administrator of the estate was happy and I am still on good terms with both of them.

If you offer 100 above their ask that's 300 below fair market, you still get 200 below fair market and <priceless> good will with the seller.
I've done that a couple of times, and one of them paid back manifold in another way.
What goes around comes around. Reap what you sow. Yadda yadda. Seems to have worked out pretty good in my 70 years. No enemies...

title says it all
I hoarded as much 308 ammo and reloading supplies off CGN and GP for cheap when everyone was jumping on the 6.5 trend and off loading their 308 supplies. Example of cheap... I was talking local sellers down to $25.00 - $27.00 a box for 168 gr FGMM.
