If the Makasi factory Buttstock has too short of a Length Of Pull (LOP), I may order up a Lage Manufacturing, side-folding Buttstock. The Lage Buttstock is reversible for folding direction and can be purchased with their 1/2" LOP Extenders to obtain the ideal length for. me. They are constructed from a Steel Hinge with a very rugged and rigid black polymer Buttstock that still somewhat resembles the FAL Para Stock.

GP-25 recoil pad is $15 with free shipping from aliexpress and should fit.I wonder, do you think a rubber butt pad shoulder saver for a shotgun or Ak/Type 81 might fit the FAL-style stock to get extended length of pull? Alternatively, could you stack a short 1913 riser (like for a short red dot or prism site) to increase the length of pull, or would that compromise the rigidity too much?
I didn’t even know the IWI was coming.Looks Ike an IWI one just got through also
The CSR18. 5.56 and 18.6” barrel is all I know
I’m committed to the Makasi but someone I know is looking

Thanks!I'd agree that a picatinny riser is sloppy and jury rigged. An adjustable LOP stock is still the best option IMO.
The GP-25 buttpad has proven military pedigree and is specifically designed with a strap for securely attaching to skeleton stocks. That's my recommendation. It stretches to fit over the butt and I'm 87% sure it will fit a makasi stock. Can't tell for certain without testing of course.

I’ve ordered both, will try them keep the one I like and sell the other.
I can’t wrap my head around a polymer battle rifle but if the Bren is it must be fine.

I believe, the LOP is what it is, to clear the charging handle when folded. If so, lengthening the butt will interfere with the charging handle. If this is all correct, then the decision to be made is a straight, proper LOP butt, or a short, improper LOP buttstock than can be folded. To elaborate further, I remember the same issue with the length of pull noted on the side and under-folding Type 81s, and many used a rubber butt pad to help. Although the adjustable length of pull stocks , be they be buffer tube based or otherwise, would be superior, it's nice to have an inexpensive alternative, even if it only gets used temporarily.

Someone posted, I think it was magpul?, that can give the best of both worlds, as it angles down, away from the charging handle when folded, and it's an M4 type adjustable LOP. Whether it'll last (the hinge), only time will tell.
Do you know if it locks folded? There is no need to run out of room on the Left Side of the rifle with a longer LOP Buttstock running into the Charging Handle. Simply reverse the Side-folding Mechanism so that the Stock now folds on the Right Side like the original FAL Para. Now you can mount a Buttstock with as long a LOP as you desire. In many cases (such as the new Magpul Buttstock), the "Tube" is angled downwards enough to clear the Ejection Port for firing with the stock folded (if desired). Best of all worlds - longer LOP, Right-side Folding, Clear Ejection Port.

Your astute end-users will find Makasi more attractive simply because it handles like the banned gun. This means that muscle-memory acquired on the AR15 will be largely transferrable to the new platform.
Duct tape and pool noodles.. the good o.d. green tape..Look like the Carmel shipment would hit Canada first before Makasi's and I cannot wait to get my hands on the Maksai.
