What’s a good .410 lately ?

Thinking of getting another .410 one day here. Really sold on the Mossberg 500 platform. Prefer pump action if possible any other suggestions ?

I have the Mossberg 590 shockwave that I took the birds head grip off of and put the adapter on that allows the use of an ar stock and grip and I like it a lot

I did that with my shockwave lol but mine is a 12 gauge . Put on Magpul furniture now it’s a beauty ! Might have to go the same route again I didn’t even think about that

I love the 500 in 410 but I hate loading the mag tube. For that reason all my 410s are break action. My favorite being a cheap single stevens 301 turkey

For ground swatting a 9mm flobert works great

For ground swatting, a 20 or even 12 gauge works even better, use a full choke, shoot high, and no shot in the meat, just the head/neck area. And the denser pattern of the larger gauges, makes sure that you hit the head/neck.

Northern Ontario you can walk right up to them. 1/4oz of 7.5s or 6s works great. I prefer to shoot them on the wing so sometimes I have to run at them to get them to fly. Its amazing they haven't been wiped out. Down in Southern ontario where I live what few we have are like rockets. You hear the wings at 40 to 50yards as they flush. Haven't seen one down my way in years.

A 20 gauge shooting high does a fine job, clean kills, no pellets in the breast.

I use a 28 as well as a 20 depends where I'm going and chasing Huns or chuckers, as well .Just picked up an 870 in 28 think it was a safe queen.

I use a 28 gauge for most of my upland hunting, but the selection and availability of 20 gauge shotguns and shotshells is better, than 28.
