180gr NPs for me. It's the perfect combination of weight, bullet quality and velocity. Saying that, I also have a good load for 180gr Speer GS.

I've never used them but the 200gr Speer HC gets good reviews. Might be perfect in a 30-06 at the reduced velocity over the 180s.

I hunt mainly moose and and the trend is people say they are bigger up here. 180gn partition is a great bullet and 180gn is a great choice at 30-06 velocity. 200gn if you keep your shots inside 250m is great too… I mean even 165gn bullet of good construction would be adequate!

In my 30-06 it's;

175 gr Terminal Ascent. Hands down the best bullet on the market today. Either factory fodder or handloads. I used my handloads on elk last year 175gr TA and N550. Bang flop.

If I can't use that it would be the 180gr Fed Fusion handloaded. I've never had any problems with either of those bullets.

180 gr Norma oryx for factory ammo would be hard to beat. Bonded bullet, at 2650-2700 fps for 40$ a box is an amazing deal for the quailty.

A really good bullet that is somewhat affordable that shoots well ( in my rifle anyway) is Speer 190gn impact! Really good reviews on the bullet.

The 180 grains bullet is optimal for the 30-06.

Yes it does matter if you try to stretch your shot. I suggest you but your nose in a ballistic chart..

I'd suggest moving up hotter than a 30-06 if ya can't hit big animals with a 200 gr cause they're too far away lol holy cow

They seem really good! I ended up going with the 175 LRX for my do-all 30-06 load.
