Don't buy from Tenda

I should have trusted my instincts and not ordered from here but I've been wanting a Remington 700 in 7mm-08 for a very long time and they had one on sale. It arrived last week and I took it to the range this morning. The rifle came with dirt and a bit of rust on the barrel but I cleaned it and thought I could live with that for the sale price. Then I tried to chamber a round, it would not chamber smoothly. It was very difficult and hard to eject. I fired a round in hopes that it was just a dirty chamber or sticky ejector. I cleaned it and chambered a second. Same thing. I checked the chamber and saw an obvious manufacturer defect and called tenda immediately. They would not take it back even though it is an obvious defect and inside the 7 day warranty period. They differed me to the Remington warranty claims in Quebec. I am very disappointed.

It gets worse, those guns come from North sylva.
And arw Remington arms/freedom group old stock.
"REM ARMS" will not warranty those guns
There are zero warranty on pre 2023 Remington firearms.
I'm sure the guns price reflected this.

In fact stoeger went out of their way to help me.

If only Tenda would have inspected it before putting it up forsale - and - not have a customer with their hard earned money be taken. It's simple inspect shipment bad ones are returned to the manufacturer

Thats the manufacturers job. Never in a million years would I assume a company is inspecting what they are sending me unless it was an expensive piece, or I specifically asked.

I got a shotgun from them that had issues and they were the ones who imported it in so they would have had to warranty it but they completely ghosted me
It was a $1500 shotgun so not exactly cheap either
Nobody else would touch it as Tenda were the ones who imported it. I tried Odell, SFRC, gravel, and others
That soured me with them for a good while and while I have bought stuff from them since I make sure that whatever brand I get has a legit warranty dept that will deal with issues
If anyone is curious the shotgun was a Buyuk Huglu high rib trap O/U
It was a beautiful gun but unfortunately was a lemon
So if your thinking of buying one from them beware that you might get no warranty on it

If you paid for it with your CC, call Tenda and tell them to read their agreement.
If they won’t give you a refund call your CC company and ask to have the payment revered. They will.

Another well known dealer on here tried that with me on a new firearm and after having the discussion with the sales manager they took it back (emailed me a shipping label) and refunded my money.

They are obligated by the CC agreement to supply the customer with a 100% product or refund the money, REGARDLESS of what the STORE policy is for refunds.

Don’t take no for an answer
And always pay via CC - vs EMT where you have no protection.

Really............this is for VISA. Others are same/similar.
Know your rights.

Essentially its when a seller sends defective goods, the buyer has to attempt to return or return the defective goods.
If the seller doesnt cooperate, VISA will refund the amount in question to the cardholder.

VISA makes a sh!tload of money from cardholders in interest. Lots from processors as well, but they do have agreements that have to be followed

I've purchased lots of stuff from Tenda over the years (into the multiple thousands). They're fine - not saints, just sellers. Glad to have them as a source for products in the GTA (especially now, since they've started getting Berger bullets in!)

What other retail sales industry do you believe individually inspects every major item that they sell? I can assure you that NONE of them do. Why would you think the gun industry is any different?

Car dealers, quad dealers, snowmobile dealers, sis by side dealers, boat dealers and many other all do a PDI (pre-delivery inspection) on all there units before selling. Not the same as a gun (and I don’t think it would be practical for guns) but, you said NONE do and that is clearly not do.

Those are all manufacturers' retailers, though, that are contracted to do those inspections. That is not an apples-to-apples comparison.

What you are inferring is that Wal-mart should be opening up every Keruig coffee maker prior to a sale and brew a cup of coffee to make sure it works.

Sorry to hear of your issue. I had a similar experience with a Local shop (Not Tenda) the rifle they sent me had a 3 Inch scratch in the cerakote on the barrel as well as rust... they ki dry swapped it out for one that had a smaller scratch but no rust hahahahahhaha. Rifles worth 1000-2000 come from fa tory with defects... it's crazy, but QC can't get EVERY rifle. Although I always thought that ALL rifles were fired at leaat 3-5 times before leaving the factory.

As for Tenda... I've not had one transaction go south from them. They throw on deals that have crazy margins for resellers and such good promos that I myself have accomplished it myself.

Best shop in the country IMO

Buying experience and expectations always vary.
Ive posted a couple times about exchanging an unfired rifle with Tenda when I noticed an issue.
Was fast and painless.
I've purchased many times from them without issue.

That burr should come out with a light touch of a 7mm-08 reamer. Maybe call your local gunsmith and ask if they can help.

Shipping to Gravel is expensive, and dealing with them is not pleasant at all.......

Save yourself some grief and just get it fixed. If you are very handy like some others suggested, this can be cleaned up with some care.

Quality control from many firearms manufactures have gone down hill somewhat. Remington, Ruger, Marlin, and Savage are few that come to mind. Tenda's responsibility ends once you receive the firearm....

I love the old school Remington rifles, however the new Rem-Arms models can be a crap shoot.....

Out of curiosity, how much did you pay? And what model is it? BDL, CDL, SPS, Varmint, ADL?

Yup, brand new Benelli Lupo with an obvious burr, really sucked, Stoger was “it should be fine, ship to us”, saved hundreds, local gunsmith $50

I've had great service from Tenda multiple times (tho not warranty) and also good from North Sylva the one time I needed it (warranty, contacts and return fixed in a decent time).

I've had pretty bad experience with Bass pro shop and absolute #### with Thompson Center/S&W who made me do multiple phone calls to the US, emails and waited over a year to warranty a brand new firearm that came out of the factory missing a part. After months of useless back and forth, they finally referred me to Wolverine that was the Canadian warranty center at the time, but since they only get shipment from them 3-4 times a year, I had to wait 2-3 more months for their next shipment to get the part I needed. And while I was STILL waiting, S&W decided to completely cease warranty for Canada and not even fulfill ongoing claims, just dropped everything. And they didn't even contact the customers, it's the warranty center that received the notice and passed it along.

All this to say we all have our personal horror stories, businesses are there to make money, and while some are plain dicks, some will do what they can to be nice, to a certain extent... And being in Canada, smaller market, less distributors, shops and gunsmiths to choose from, sadly makes it that much harder.

As suggested, getting it done yourself by a local smith might be the best option even tho it's not something you should have to do... Hope the discount was somewhat worth it.
