Derya pump and bolt action 9mm pcc

Thanks for the reply. Any update would be greatly appreciated! Mine is coming in a few days so I'm trying to get things sorted out so I know what to prepare for. Maybe a 1/16" thick washer would help...I'll see what I have laying around.
So I was out hammering away on the plate rack again this morning. Another 150rds down range with the 1/8" rubber washer installed, without any hiccups. Ejection was strong and I didn't have any empties dribbling out. Didn't seem to matter if I was aggressive or gentle while working the action. I'm just chalking up the prior few weak ejections as break in period. All in all, I'm very satisfied with the gun. @ 25yrs off the bench with my hand loads & a vortex sparc AR, it was grouping just over an 1".

Is the pump hitting the receiver the only "bolt stop"?

The recently posted Youtube review mentions that his plastic pump grip cracked on the first outing from what looks like stress induced by the plastic slamming into receiver.

If this contact area is part the physical stop then I would not be surprised if the revised pump handle not only has the option for a bottom rail but also included a space for a dedicated rubber buffer.

I'm not certain here but I'm going to check this week. There's a Metal bock bolted inside the pump handle that the action bar is welded to. It is slightly recessed into the pump handle. This might be where the problem lies in that guy's video with the pump cracking. I stuck the rubber washer between the metal block and the front side of the action. Then, on the upper receiver ( left side) there is a silver plate bolted in that needs to be removed to facilitate bolt removal from the reciever. The top of the bolt also has an integral key that mates with a key seat in the reciever and the bolted in plate. I'll have to do some measuring and see what the end stroke of the pump cycle bottoms out on first.

So small update, received my derya and first thing I did was take it all apart, there was A LOT of factory grease that it was literally dripping everywhere (the bolt, the pump, even the fake buffer tube) just leaking everywhere. Cleaned that up and applied some CLP. I added a 1/10" rubber washer to the pump to hopefully protect the plastic but reduce the "clacking" sounds, seems to work just fine (haven't fired any live rounds through yet). I found the roll pin holding the peep sight actually pretty easy to remove, 2 taps with a solid metal punch and it came right out, (left to right). Thanks to the tip from the previous poster, I used the front sight screw that is shorter to cover the screw hole left by the rear peep sight. I applied blue loctite to the grip adapter and the grip screws, no issues there with the screws being where they should be and no cross threading. There is a fair amount of slop with the factory stock which I remedied with some electrical tape length wise (3 layers) and now its snug and extremely little play.

A couple things I wish were improved/changed from initial impressions is like everyone said, if they had a pic rail or mlok bottom for the pump and if it was a bit thicker that would be great. I wish the fake buffer tube was milspec size so I could put on a sling plate but its too big, ALSO never having used a derya stock before (or maybe its just this one) I didn't realize the QD looking points are actually non functional (way too large for qd).

Other than that I'm looking forward to taking it out this weekend and putting some rounds through it! Will post an update once that happens.

So first outting update:
  • I had about 4-5 FTEs, I thought I wasn’t pumping it aggressively enough but looking at the video I’m not slamming it back but it’s the same movement that would eject the rounds prior no issue. Very consistent ejections otherwise that go about about a yard. Just like Kyle mentioned, live rounds get tossed FAR. I had installed an mlok handstop which I find really helps with the grip on the pump, when firing its easy to work the action.
  • I find having the bolt open to seat the magazine works best, if its closed then theres not enough room to seat and you have to open the action then reseat the magazine a bit further. Like others have said its easy to overseat it, but if you’re firmly pressing it there is a “click” that lets you know, but if you "tap" the magazine when seating it, good chance you’re going to have to reseat it. I had no issues with the stock derya magazines or my pmags/sgm/kci, all fed the same with no notable issues.
  • My biggest disappointment I suppose is that despite having taken apart the firearm and applying blue Loctite onto the grip and rear adapter threads and tightening. It still fell apart about 50-60 rounds in. I had to take apart the grip and the stock so I could get at the adapter bolt and crank it. Then it stayed fine for the rest for the 100 or so rounds. I’m going to take it apart and re-apply more Loctite and really crank those bolts this time and hopefully it fares better next outing. If this is a firearm that needs to be re-tightened every 150rds or so I’ll be pretty frustrated.
  • Long story short: it’s a Turkish pump 9mm, I think its fun and allows me to use up my 9mm stockpile, shoots fair groups (2" groups at 25 yards offhand). Its not refined but it definitely can do the job and I’m pretty satisfied so far.

I assume that's 2" at 25 yards and not 1/2".... :)

Not bad for off hand and a new to you gun. In your previous post you mentioned the oversized holes for QD slings, it looks like maybe they are sized for the QD sling cups like magpul does with their stocks.

Are you using the iron sights or an optic?

whoops sorry you're right, I want to chalk that mistake up to it being a long day but yes, 2", my mistake.

As for the oversized QD hole, I did find online that there are those sling cups you mentioned that you could install, so perhaps its more accurate for me to say I would prefer that they used the (what I think is more common) QD size that I've plugged into several of my other stocks/railsystems so you don't need to buy said cups.

For this outting I was using the iron sights, my RDS had some issues so I had to remove it, I would expect that as I get more familiar with this firearm and with an optic I should be able to tighten up the groups (mostly 5rd groups, sometimes more).

It's a common mistake to use MOA as a proxy for 1Inch regardless of the distance, no doubt your groups will only get better. That said, your 2 inch off hand groups are probably still fist sized at 50 yards,

I have seen Turkish guns with stock that had QD cups built in from the factory.... I'm with you on wishing that the proper sized cups were factory installed!

I think this pump gun will likely have a MK II version at some point down the road with a few tweaks based on user feedback.

Hey all, I just skimmed through this thread fast, mostly talk about the pump model. Anyone try out the 12" bolt action? Although not as fast firing, or quick to rack off another round, imo, less to go wrong with a bolt action.
Tks,
Rosco

Ok, you mounted it on the side? I was curious if it had MLOK on the bottom of the pump. If it works, it works..
Yeah so unless you drill some holes to add a rail like a previous poster, there unfortunately is no mlok/rail on the bottom side of the handguard, a big oversight on their part imo. I wasn't sure if I'd like the side mounted handstop but I'm actually finding it better than I expected. I find the action pretty easy to work anyways so its just really to make the hanguard a bit thicker because it is pretty thin and if you have bigger hands your fingertips might be dragging along the top of the handguard action.

I have a hunch a new batch of DYPA just arrived at Bullseye North.
Let's see if the second batch is factory improved, or still need some DIY buffs.
