Cormorant opening week

Well Tuesday was the opener here in SEONTARIO. A few groups of us ventured out on the St.Lawrence and saved a lot of fish!! We will continue weeding down the hord.

Gut them, fill them with horse s**t, roast them at 400 degrees for 6 hours, throw away the bird and eat the horse s**t.

I'm thinking they might be useful for homemade dog food? I use up a lot of venison making dog food, I'd love to have something like cormorant meat to replace that.

I seen videos in some scadinavian country where they said they ate them. I tried using them for coyote bait but nothing touched them, and I mean nothing. Once they rotted enough the turkey vultures went at them. We just dig a big hole on a farm and lime them until the seasons over and then bury them with the hoe! For anybody that’s never hunted them, they FUXKIN stink awful. Anything living as far as vegetation is dead in short order if they start roosting or living there. Beautiful islands become bare ammonia white shxt washed bald rocks that stink so bad you can smell it for miles downwind! Not to mention the amount of fish consumed that is changing the waterways where they’re now calling home.

De bone them and mix the ground meat 50/50 with ground coyote, makes fine Salisbury steak for the mother in law, and other mooching family members.

They started roosting in some trees on our place. I phoned fish and wildlife to see if I could get a damage control permit. F&W said “ good news, they aren’t protected on private land”.

Well for an ocean bird they’re straying a long ways from any salt water from what I’m seeing. The rancher buddy of mine had them attempting to land in his spring fed pond full of rainbows in South East Saskatchewan near the Montana border!! I think anywhere with water and fish is good for them. I do know they can’t digest a face full of tungsten haha, compliments of member 25Straight!!

S-hit Hawks are protected in Ontario, and what a mess they make on flat roofs, parking lots, closed beaches... And then there are Geese....

Americans have turned invasive fish into profitable businesses. Seeing as nobody has done this yet with cormorants….the birds are heavily overpopulated, it’s healthy fish fed protein, and it helps the environment. Why not? Just be sure the processors use metal detectors

Raw dog food would be an option too.



What am I saying? This is Canada. There’s probably a long list of rules why you can’t do this.

A few years back Toronto wanted to keep their beaches and parks clean and open. They proposed rounding up the geese, processing them, and feeding the homeless and destitute, the public was outraged at the idea of killing the geese and both the public and the homeless were having no part of it deeming it unsafe.

I remember when the Ontario Department of Highways would pick up road-killed deer and drop them off at the county jail where the cook would butcher it and feed it to the inmates; that's not allowed anymore either.

Since the new' arrivals were/have been eating any birds in the parks-at the fountains, sell/give them to the 'refugees' & save the doves & geese!{possibly cats n dogs too} )
