Hey guys,

I'm looking to buy a CZ-75 SP-01 Shadow(9mm, fiber optic front sight). I will use it for IPSC production. I never shooted one yet but I will shoot one this saturday and then decide if I like it or not. But meanwhile, I would like to know what you guys think about this gun. It seems to me like a really nice gun.

Thanks for all.

One of the best 9mm on the market right now. Balanced properly, 7lbs trigger pull in double action, around a 1.5-2lb pull in the single action.

Ergonomically sound, fits your hand great. CZ makes some great weapons. I would strongly encourage you to pick up a Shadow. Shoot it and see if you like it before you put any money down on it. But I dont think it will disappoint.

I just got one three weeks ago and I must say how impressed I am. I also have a CZ-75 (Pre-B). The fit and finish on the Shadow is excellent. The fit in my hand is almost perfect for my small hands. The trigger pull in single action is almost on the verge of being too light and for double action it is better than my Sig P220 and the Sig is really good. The fibre optic sight is very nice and makes for fast target aquisition. I do wish it was adjustable though.

Now for accuracy. Factory 9mm 147 gr. on a rest at 20 yds gave me a 1.25" group. Off hand, with the exception of two fliers was 2". I bet if this gun was put in a Ransom Rest it would be 1 hole. I was more than impressed.

The cost made this purchase the best value I have ever had. I paid over $1800 for my Sig P220 Tactical and $850 for the Shadow and the Shadow shoots as well if not slightly better than my Sig. What puts the Shadow ahead is the fit in my hand. If a pistol doesn't fit well you just won't shoot well regardless of how good it is. An adjustable sight would put it over the top.

Overall I would rate it as a 9.5:dancingbanana:

So, thats my story and I'm stickin to it.:)

Well, thanks for all the infos guys.

I think I made my mind. Now all I got to do is try it and when I'll love it(cause I'm pretty sure I will), I'll buy it. The CZ-75 was pretty much my first choice when I first bought my Glock 22 but since I'm studying to become a police officer, everyone told me to buy a Glock since it's the gun that I'll be using on my job later. The thing is, I got my RPAL specifically to do IPSC. I want to shoot IPSC for fun and competition not to become a better police officer. I don't regret buying my Glock 22 but may be I should have bought the CZ at the begining.

Cheers

Lol if you get a Glock with the department, dont buy one!

Dont worry about buying the "wrong" gun. Im sure everyone has bought a gun they thought they wanted. Everyone has there own personal preference. Unless you dont like the Shadow.. then I dont think you can be helped. ;)

The Shadow usually is an enjoyment to shoot. When you are firing it, really pay attention to the trigger and how it breaks. Its very smooth. And the balance of the gun, I dunno if it is the full dust cover but the gun is weighted really nice.

Will not out shoot my Edge, but it is an interesting gun for that kind of money.
For IPSC I will go will lighter springs.

Can really compare the two. The Edge is anywhere from 1200-1500 more then a Shadow. Plus they have many more hours of gun smithing put into them.

Rebel let me fire his last week at the club. Nice piece of kit. I was very impressed with the trigger pulls, and the overall fit and finish.

Comparing Shadow to my Edge it is a complement to Shadow.
Yes, they are not the same class guns, however IMO Shadow stands tall and it shoots well. Then again, I am not a Master, just a plinker, who likes to compete.

I shoot Production with a SP01 Shadow. The SA trigger on mine is amazing.

As for not outshooting your Edge, I'd wager you that if we both started in SA that it would, unless we're both world class shooters. The trigger difference means squat. If the Edge did pip it to the finish, it would not be by much.
