Well, looks like I may try out IPSC Standard Division with a Major caliber pistol. I'm using a GLOCK 34 now.

With my expected tax return coming any day now, I think I may be able to afford an Edge, a Trusight or a Limited Custom II.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Trusight?,, would it have an edge over the Edge? The Limited Custom II is looking good for me too, and more price happy.

Anyone?

Last time I talked to Sean, he mentioned that the Trusight may have a slight "edge" on the Edge with target aquisition due to being a little lighter up in front.

As for that expansion chamber, I just dont know if it makes all that much of a difference. Seems kind of gimmicky to me. The Edge has proven itself as one of the most popular Standard/Limited guns for a reason.

Lots of people have jumped on the Tanfoglio bandwagon... and lots have come back to STI/SVI.

Personally, I have an Edge and it has never let me down.

Sean out at Freedom Ventures is the guy to talk to about all three of these guns. He can set you straight and answer any questions you may have.

Thanks Steyr101,, I think the TruSight is off my short list for now.

There are also a couple on the EE that I am thinking about as well: from Rangetime (Para Ord package deal) and Quigley (SVI custom job).

Speaking from personal exprience, stay far far away from the Para.

Sure, one of the best (if not the THE best) Standard shooters in Quebec uses a bone stock Para, but I had some bad experiences with Para's in general. They are simply not in the same league as the other guns mentioned.

See if you can find someone who well let you try out their guns. You should try both before you decide. Both the STI's and Tanfo's are excellent choices.

FWIW: I'm kind of partial to the Tanfoglio guns, but that's an ergonimic thing with me.

I currently own a Trusight, and have shot the Edge.
Both are excellent pistols.
IMO you would have to be a master class or better shooter to be able to give an honest opinion as to which gun is better.
At my level (b) they are both better than me.
That said the expansion chamber can be difficult to clean...

nope,..regular limited Custom,...the 2 is blued but has slide cuts,....might in the future get it cut,..but for now just gonna shoot it. Got some Henning 520 mag pads on the way (similiar to Viper pads),...
I tuned the slide release (ie: polished it down a bit),..as it was holding open with one round left in each magazine,....my mags I turned in a little near the top.. I tested them all 5 rds at a time (100rds) and they all worked,...with the slide locking back on empty.

and I got the Henning/ EGW prepped Hammer and sear (which I found and did 5 other shooters,.. that it stacked near the end of the press,...needs to be angled and polished up a bit)
I put the OEM parts back in, and the little polishing I did to the OEM parts and with the lighter hammer spring make the break very nice,..out of the box the trigger is just great as well...but it is my standard gun and I like to mess around with it..LOL
the reset is not a 1911,.but works well. I think my trigger pull now is well under 3 lbs,...more like 2lbs, and with the Henning XL firing pin, 100% reliable ignition.

maybe 300rds of Combat masters .40 ammo at approx. 175 PF.
I will post the target I shot the other night at a bullseye type shoot.

I shot this after firing 10rds,..then Al Robichaud and I thought to up the sights by 4 and move it right by 3.....Might shoot a little high as I aimed at 6 O'clock. Shot 10 more rounds...and produced this...
the off rounds are at 7 and 5 O'clock,..

I also got Hennings(Extra lite trigger job) and like it very much. But one mag is feeding high. How did you guys fix that?
