Me and Laz went to visit Joe Dlask the other day, prior to the clinic at my place. We were trying to convince Joe to delve into the "chinese compatable" m14s parts/accessories market. Joe then brought out a little box of "un advertised" goodies for us to check out.
Here is the Dlask crafted muzzle break, threaded to fit the norinco rifles and locked in place with 3 allen set screws, aligning with the flash hider slots on the barrel. I'm going to take it for a test fire in the coming weeks. This not a flash hider, it is a muzzle break and you would also need a gas lock sight unless your rifle is scoped.

I'd also be very interested in how well it performs. I love my M14, but have always been bothered by the complete uselesness of a flash hider that just adds weight, length and noise to my rifle in the bush. Now a real muzzle brake; that's a different story.

These brakes have four MASSIVE ports milled at the sides, and as the gases hit the front of these ports, they are redirected out, and actually pull the rifle forward.

The good news ...
this is a top quality product .... very nice workmanship.
All those massive ports should do a great job of stripping off most of the gas coming out of the muzzle, and using that FREE energy to reduce recoil significantly, allowing for faster follow up shots.

And this is really important ... right?? Because???

The bad news ...
you aint got no front sight no more ...
I went with a Marstar Navy GRFS instead.

This design will redirect the muzzle blast to the sides and slightly back You will not be as popular with your range neighbors, and you definitely will want hearing protection.

UNKNOWN news ...
we still have to see how the added weight effects accuracy. Just like the browning Boss system, this weight may dampen barrel harmonics, and thus improve accuracy with some loads, most loads, OR, it may reduce accuracy for some loads as well. It may also change the point of impact, and require resighting.

Not fired yet, but we can confirm that the Dlask muzzle brake on a Chinese M-14 still "SINGS" nicely when the bolt slams home.

In any case, it looks very verrrry NICE hangin off the end of a JAE 100 stocked 14, with a GRFS, and an ARMS type mount, with a BIG scope mounted. Wayyyy heavy tacticool points.

( HUH???? WHAT??? )

I know those ones, they are excellent brakes.
They dramaticaly reduce the felt recoil and the climb.

The set screws are for preventing the rotation of the brake,
so it doesn't un-screw from the front thread of the barrel.

This was one of the Dlask's test models,
with an extra hole (for sensors) in the front
when they were developing that brake.

Had My M 14 out today with the New Dlask brake on it. It makes quite a difference in recoil and muzzel lift......follow up shot much faster due to being able to get back on target quicker.....IMHO well worth the money (and way up on the coolness scale)

Called and bought the last two of these today from Dlask, should be in the mail.

I needed something on the end of the barrel to cover the threads and not having much luck finding a USGI flash hider.

It is not an exact copy. I have both and they have different diameters. And VZ has 3 chambers, M305 has 4. But both start from the original shape of the baffle which is state of the art military technology and what you see on the VZ and M305 are different adaptations to match the calibre and gas volume of these guns. Dlask makes similar brakes for many other calibers such as 223, 338 LM and some common guns.

Dlask brake

I have the same brake on Norczilla an noticed at least a 50 percent reduction in recoil - the same design on my cz 858 is also very effective - Nice design

I bought on of these a couple months ago from 45ACPKING (thanks again :)). It works great, reduces recoil and muzzle rise. I've got a question thought for those who have one or may know. When I first put it on the rifle, i was able to hand tighten it to where it was tight on the barrel, and the 3 screws were also aligned with the flash hider slots(which I screwed in also). After firing about 100 rounds with it on, before leaving the range, I noticed that the 3 screws had come loose and the break was pretty loose also. Now when I hand tighten the break as far as it will go (to where the 3 screws are aligned with the slots) it's still pretty loose before tightening the hex screws. I'm just wondering if this if normal and the way it's supposed to be.

Lots of new M305's out there now...and more coming. He might be willing to make up a couple dozen. Someone would just have to present it to him....like the people who have previously met and dealt with him :)
