If you happened to be out hunting with your favourite big game rifle, and you suddenly found yourself with a clear, unobstructed shot at a Sasquatch….would you shoot it?

All this talk in the other thread has got me curious.

No, I'd have to believe that in all probability I didn't know what in hell I was looking at therefor, I have no right to shoot at it.

The last time I saw a sasquatch, I was in such poor shape that I was fortunate not to have a rubber ball, let alone a loaded weapon...

I think I would shoot it. Whether or not I would report it to the press would be another matter. I would have to weigh the pro and cons about people knowing for sure that it exists.

Would I shoot a sasquatch?...........Umm, dunno, what do they taste like?

Besides I only shoot a 30.06, probably not big enough. ;)

I don't see a point in shooting it except in self-defence. Shooting something for the sake of shooting something or for bragging rights is not a very good reason to kill something.

Even if the creatures do exist (I am completley on the fence, although I do find the subject fascinating) they have no reason to fear humanity. Lets try to keep it that way.

Ten years or so ago there was a lot of "Sasquatch" talk and the BC government put the mythical beast under protection, ie, against the law to shoot.
As Stuckon308 said, it would likely be a man in made up suit. Or maybe a bear, moose, evergreen tree in fading light, a morning after blurry vision or just plain figment of the imagination. Take your pick.

I wouldn't shoot a Sasquatch. it no doubt has a level of sentience, making it murder if I was to shoot it and if I were to try eating it, heck, that's not much better then cannibalism. so no...I wouldn't shoot it, unless I had a camera :D
