What is an SKS D worth?

depending on the condition of the D and if it comes with a banana mag , i would have to say somewhere between $350-400 .

PM incoming ....

scratch the PM, :D

There was one at the HAC show here a month ago for $600 with two mags and a few tables down another for $450...the correct answer to how much is it worth is "How much do you want to pay?" or even better "How much do you have?"

I bought my D still in cosmo and sealed for 175 2 years ago. If i were to sell it, would go for around that. In my opinion a rgular sks is far better.

where do i take a number ???? :D

i gladly trade you my early chinese SKS for a "D". even tho i already have one.:D

Lever Arms has three at $600 each, with a 30/5rd mag.

actually you get:

3 of 30/5rd and 2 of 5rd Magazines; Chest Rig; Sling; Cleaning Kit; Oil Bottle

not bad as most are sold in the $350 to $450 price range in used cond, then buy 5/30 mags, they sell for $50 each

i agree , its not bad pricing coming from lever ... last summer they had one for $400 basic , i thought it was high at the time but they had no problem selling it . i bet by fall these three will be gone .

where did lever get these new "D" from?

I think I might sell my SKS-D. I bought mine in 2003 for 199 bucks but looks like they are up in price. I probably would sell it with 2 5 round mags for 199 since its got a few marks on the stock now. Since I have a 7.62x39 XCR on order I don't need the sks no more. But I will make the final decision when/if I ever recieve the XCR in 7.62x39. I just hope by that time there is non corrosive bulk ammo that is readily available because I refuse to put corrosive ammo in an expensive XCR.

sure you will.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I think they are worth about 175 bucks, but people seem to be paying 450-500 for them...

that would be a norinco sks not an sks D I would give ya 500$ for an SKS D if it was in pristine shape, if it was customized and tastefully done , prob some more for sure , not like some of the custom jobs i have seen ,that just to me seem like they destroyed a wonderful firearm. IMHO

Just a heads up... Last time I checked a Norinco SKS, and an SKS D are the same thing, as Norinco made the SKS D variant for the North American Market, and by made I mean a Norinco bubba took a grinder to a bunch of original SKS rifles so they could take an AK Mag.

Also I have yet to find any evidence that theses were ever issued to their military.

These are commercial bubbah jobs nothing more.
I'd be interested in knowing if anyone would pay $500 for a sporterized Enfield as well? :D

The sks I put into a Tapco stock has a shorter barrel and a really nice trigger. It seems to be some sort of custom product. The bluing is very nice as well. With that stock its a nice package. I have no idea what its originl pedigree is but its great shooter. I doubt I'll ever sell it. I found my standard length SKS changes the whole Tapco feel. I thought about the D but there seems to be so many negative comments. Now ... more cheap ammo please

the last sks detacheable mag version I purchased through CGN was advertised at 700.00 and seller accepted my offer of 600.00 plus shipping
-the rifle has a fully rebuilt with machined parts trigger group (and included all the original parts and some extra bolt parts in a baggie on the side)
- full wolf spring upgrade
- 6 detacheable magazines
- TWO mint condition synthetic stocks.... a new camo mote carlo and a side folder... both with handgusrds to match
- sling swivels and tac sling
- Choate drilln tap scope mount
- Barska 4 x scope
AND a sks pinned compensator

this package to me was worth every penny..... AND the rifle was in pristine condition all around AND the thing shoots more accurate thatn any sks i've owned.
i see a skd-d with a pitted barrel and no extras listed for 500...... I dunno where guys get the idea that thier junk rifle is worth that much..... but i feel for the 600.00 i paid..... I got a great deal..... that was probably worth 700.00
I would not pay a dime more than 400.00 for an excellent condtion sks, bare bones with a couple mags

I still do not see the attraction of having a "D" Is it only because of being able to put a big AK mag in it and having the "kewl" factor ??? I find using stripper clips quite practical, and as quick to us as changing a mag.
