Hey everybody, normally I don't really do the introduction thing and normally just jump into the conversations instead but here goes I guess.

I am a 29 yr old guy living in Montreal, Quebec and I have no shooting experience other then shooting with a AK5 in Sweden which was totally amazing to shoot. *drools*

I am a member of several US gun forums which include OCDO, XDTalk among others so through there I have learnt a lot about guns and shooting and safety and a lot more.

I finished my restricted weapon course last saturday where I also decided to challenge the unrestricted course test and I pushed my instructor to find out how I did and according to him I passed them both but right now I am going crazy waiting for the letter from the government with the official answer if I passed or failed and then I will have to apply for the PAL and after that wait for a month or two I think before I get it if I really did pass both tests.

Has anybody else gone crazy waiting for the letter and see each single day move by at a snails pace??

It is great to finally find a Canadian gun forum because I know a lot of the gun situation in the US but I need to know more about the Canadian gun situation.

It sounds weird that you need to wait to find out if you passed or failed? When I did the course, I had my results in hand right away. Is this some weird extra paperwork BS from QC ?
 
In Qc you get a card (for NR) and a letter (for restricted) by mail as proof of the training. You normally know verbally if you passed.

same boat as you, still waiting for the first letter. been like 2 weeks now.
guess we cant do much but wait.
I just waste time figuring which rimfire i`m gonna pick up first :cool::sniper:

for the letter it was about 2 weeks similar for the card for me. I have sent in the application paperwork and it will be there a month on june the 8th so yeah I am going crazy a little but you learn to relax cause you cant call them really till about 45 days after. I am still going with a friend when he goes to Ville St Pierre club usually mondays it helps so I would talk to peter2772000 an take him up on his offer, you will feel better. it is all the advice I can give.

Welcome to the club, you'll see that there's quite a few guys (and a few gals) from La Belle Province on CanadianGunNutz!

If you think waiting is hard... wait until you actually send in for your permit... But the worst is waiting for you very first restricted purchase... (Hint: Don't buy a restricted long gun as a first purchase... they take a "little" longer to process in QC)

Fait attention ce forum là coûte une fortune, ca fait trois carabines que j'achète juste depuis les fêtes à cause d'eux autres. LOL!!!
