.260 Rem Tikka T3 Varmint

Haha! I just found it @ the infamous gunstore with ####ty customer service :)
Thx Mutt, I may have to use my ex employee discount on that one.

I saw several at wholesales, 6.5X55SM, It got a slightly Edge on the 260rem, and the prices just got drop by $100 or so...

Why not 6.5 swede? Believe that all the Tikka's use the same size action and install spacers in the mag. You can get slightly increased performance because of the increased case capacity over the .260 Rem.

Airborn.......Just get the 6.5x55......I know you wanna !!!!

260 is just marketing !!!:runaway:

And what's with the "Team Glock" !!!!!!:p

I loooove 6.5's..;)

Kinda off topic but got an email from HS Precision Inc & they gave me the good news that they would convert/custom build a .260 Rem version of their STR. I'm sure ATRS Rick could build a similar or better system but you just can't go wrong with a Tikka as an entry/intermediate level precision rifle.

If going with a .260 Remington why are you going to handicap yourself by considering a shorter barrel length?

It would be a 22'' barrel rather than the 20'' has for the std .308 STR. I'm sure if someone wants a longer barrel, since this would be a custom job by them, you could go even longer.

I don't recall saying anything about a barrel length..??

Not directly you didn't. It was implied by your choice of stick. Even in a 22" barrel, you'd be leaving plenty on the table in terms of performance potential. Another great cartridge that doesn't often live up to its full potential in commercial offerings is the 7mm-08 due to similar constraints.

Your money, your choice. Just trying to point out the painfully obvious.
