They made them to be tough and durable, no problem on the reel thing. trying to locate some in Canada....

The back of the Tri-rail uses the hole meant for scope mounts.

No arms#18 or smith mount if you buy one of these!

And it's UTG. Not Leapers???

So is Aircraft Grade Aluminum equal to 6061-t6 aluminum? I'm thinking it is. I wrote asked a guy selling these rails and he said "Hello, These mounts are made for M1a/M14 rifles. I have one of these installed on my M1A. I have the SKS mount installed on one of my Norinco SKS's. I also use one of the Car 15 quad rails on my AR Commando patrol rifle. These mounts are easy to install and hold up to the toughest conditions. I have never had a problem. I've sold several of these people that have installed the M1a mount, no problems"......But offcourse he's trying to sell them so Im still not sure.

Obviously You would not want one of these on your rifle if you actually use it on the job in some dust bowl somewhere....
...but for alot of us...in the back field or on the range, I am sure it is just fine.

Well I'm takin myself out of the frustration. Gonna concentrate on quality iron sights and keep er old school. Unless there is a rail that allows you to use irons as well. And can hold up in combat.

thats awesome john!!

I remeber reading somwhere a guy put one on his M14 ( norc i believe ) but it was too small of a screw to fit the reciever, I guess the screw is for the airsoft m14. so he emailed Springfield and they sent him one. i think there was some small amount of grinding to be done too.

Damn brain isnt workin too good.:slap:. if I remeber ill post it back

Here it is , it was Sniper1 that did the work.

read through ALL the linked threads and you will be alot wiser.....

Leapers... may have improved on the original design BUT I have no interrest in one. I am using 2x ARMS18 mounts and on my shorty have also added a Laz scout mount (basically same as marstars). With this setup, on my shorty I have 2 rock solid mounts to choose from....

Oh yah - if you use the contested handguard rail (the new Leapers, original KAC, or airsoft KAC) you remove your ability to use a conventional optic & mount/rail as there is only one place to screw in the bolt on the side....... and you are going to be using it for that huge unstable handguard with rails on it that might not even keep zero......... just my 2c

here in NZ we can get hold of a Promag mount, looks the same as the ARMS18 m14 mount.. thoughts on that ? has anyone tried one.. it is made of steel, but i found on my last m305 it didnt line up properly, was on an angle to the left,
simple matter of shims?

not exactly the case.....

my Knights KAC also has a small rail insert for the stripper clip guide (as do the guardier clones) and is adjustable up and down.... I have a 6 to 18 x 50 scope mounted and when i want a holosight i can remove and mount that to the forward rail
