CFO Surprise inspections.

Well its bad enough but sure not as bad as I thought. I wonder if it will get worse with dion in?

An attached garage is part of the dwelling house. If you do consent have them sit in the garage beside your garbage cans. I like seafood but the aroma after a day in the heat is just nasty.
Walk them out one at a time into the garage with the registration. Make sure your doors are down wouldn't want to worry the neighbours. As CFC says can't enter without consent. Front door is fine. Garage attached is part of the dwelling house . I use it as my front door.
Sorry about the fish Inspector but they do say salmon is brain food.

So if I'm out of the country when they call, I can tell them that they have to wait till I return to Canada since my wife who does not have a PAL or RPAL doesn't have access to my firearms.

Expect ban talk with any kind of Liberal prime minister. Canadians have seen that the bans in GB and Aus have done nothing. Canadian gun owners will not be lining up. They understand the futility. They might cooperate with a law if they believe it will work. Gun owners know that a ban will not work.

As well, a law must have an expectation to fulfill its intended purpose. A gun ban cannot lower gun crime.

In any case, if a Canadian government understands that gun owners will not cooperate, they will back down. No government wants that kind of expense. Police. Courts. Lawyers. Gun owners will simply clog up the system and gain sympathy from all except the hard core gun haters sipping their lattes in Toronto and Montreal.

Resistance to a ban will depend on how it's implemented

I'll agree that there could be some resistance if the ban entails confiscation without compensation.

It'll be very costly to pay a fair market price for the banned guns, especially if they include semi automatic long guns.

I think that the government would "divide & conquer" & ban handguns first and then after a "cooling of" period scoop the semi automatic long guns in a separate ban to keep the Fudds & the OFAH in Ontario out of the picture during the handgun confiscation phase.

The Fudds will sell us out like old Bri-ex shares.

Life Memberships: NRA, GOA, CSSA, NFA, OFAH
CCW Permits: Utah, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Maine

Everything will get worse if the lieberals or ndp get in.

Sadly at some point in time, they will get in. Historicly, Canada has been more liberal than Conservative. My only hope is that it will be years down the road, and that hopefully they've cooled off, or have been educated regarding the ineffectiness a total ban will have on crime.

I'm not sure how much hope there is for that, but I guess it's better than nothing.

The Fudds as PRICEDO calls them ,won't see it coming even when it hits them.
The collective WHAT THE F^%$ !Will be their cry after their 870's 11-87's etc are sent to the smelters.
I'm not making light of what happened in Europe from 1932 to 1945. But millions of people did not believe it could happen to the them either. And back then it was human life being exterminated.
We humans have a history of allowing our pasts to repeat. Zimbabwe, Bosnia Rwanda, the list goes on and on.
The tragic irony is the signers of the US CONSTITUTION with is amendments recoginized the future threat tyranny has on liberty. That was in 1776 to1791. Yet governments today including some American politicians scoff at the 2nd Amendment.

Why the talk about ban? Not even revelent to the question asked.

If they come and ask for an inspection, you can ask for a warrent if you have less than 10 firearms and no collector status.

i think even if you have more than 10 firearms and/or collector status they still need a warrant...unless you consent. Now, if you have over 10 firearms or collector status the firearms acts gives them grounds for a warrant. My question is whether the warrant would only apply to restricted/prohibited firearms becasue of the amnesty for non-restricted. I know the amnesty is for the criminal code so i guess my question is does it carry over to the firearms act, more specifically with regards to CFO inspections.

They can't get a warrant if you have less than 10 firearm/collector status as there is no ground.

If you have more, you have to consent or ask them to get a warrant, they will probably get it Ex Parte.

The amensty has nothing to do...
