My Nordic 10/22 finally more or less complete...

I know these "new nordic" posts might be getting old... but I've had my parts sitting around for MONTHS waiting for the last ones to arrive (handguard) - and it finally came today! I'm so excited! Now I just need a new barrel and i'm set... but at least she's ready for a day of fun! - Sorry for the crappy image quality - was too lazy to get my real camera - used cellphone instead (and the flag, that was not for photographic drama - that was just left on my couch from Canada Day)

Nice set up and yeah get a shorter barel.I have one in the EE forum right now.

I definitely need a new barrel, yes - but I haven't exactly figured out what I want... plus, thats another pile of money I gotta hide from the wife! All she knows about is the $220 I spent on the actual ruger! hehe
 
I got lucky. I just kept spending and waiting for the anvil to fall..... nothing. Either she decided to let it pass unspoken or the reason we're in such bad financial shape is that she hasn't got a clue about what's getting spent where anymore. I'm going to let sleeping dogs lie for a little while before bringing up the subject though. ;)
 
This is the nicest one I've seen so far. I love the carry handle. The skinny fruity magazine still makes these tacticool guns look HILARIOUS!
 
the hand guard I'm using is the YHM 9603 carbine length (Got mine from FABSPORTS) - I ended up getting that one cuz thats the only one he had left in stock... but now that i have that one, I'm glad I got that one...

Other parts, like the metal carry handle, and the verticle forgrip, were stolen from an AR-15 Airsoft gun...
 
The tactical solutions barrel is by far the best available barrel for the 10/22.

This is the nicest one I've seen so far. I love the carry handle. The skinny fruity magazine still makes these tacticool guns look HILARIOUS!

Actually, I've been thinking about this. Wouldn't it be cool for some enterprising company to make a straight down steel mag? Like the BC or Tac mags, but not curved, and flat sided.

I don't think it would be that hard.

I know! I don't know why they can't make a nice looking magazine like that. It seems to obvious that a nice looking magazine is needed for these. Of course, most of these AR look-alikes would look nice with a drum magazine but they are hard to get and expensive.

i believe the curve has to do with reliable feeding of the .22LR round in 25 round quantities, kind of like how AR mags dont curve as much as the AK mags, its dictated by the round in the mag

I've been thinking that too, a strait mag would look alot cooler, I called BC and TI about the straight mag idea but they are not interested in making those, they didn't say why. If a Canadian manufacturer would make straight mags I would definitly pick up a few.

With a straight magazine on a 10/22 with an EVO or Nordic stock you could mount a 870 with a short barrel (like a 12.5" or 8.5" Grizzly) under it :D

The ultimate Zombie gun.

As it is, I'm trying to think of a way to do the 12-guage flare pistol under the barrel...;)
