i might buy my Glock 19 tomorrow from Dlask, the guy told me it's used but in GREAT condition, how reliable are the guys there? i've never been to Dlask...also what should i check for besides the obvious markings on the pistol and ease of slide to check it's condition? is 725 ish a good deal for a used one?

i forgot to ask, in BC do you have to be part of a gun club to purchase a restricted firearm? i'm guessing no...i pretty sure in AB you have to and at least two other provinces in the East.

Thanks everyone

G19's are available through Questar (link at the top of the page) and yes they are prohibited as the Glock barrel is too short according to CFC. If you buy from Questar it comes with a longer aftermarket barrel that makes the G19 restricted and not prohibited. They are all on sale for $799 at Questar (just bought one myself). In BC you do have to belong to a club for the transfer of a restricted firearm to be approved by the CFC. Why wouldn't you belong to a club when you own a restricted gun that can only be shot there?

Dlask are good guys but for that price I'd just go new and eat another $100 for a fresh one. Just my two cents. I bet Questar would get it to you fast. Mine came super fast. Cheers and welcome to the club!

In BC you also now have to have your LTATT BEFORE the transfer will take place...

You can get new G17's for $550 from MD Charlton and $600 at other retailers, that would be the route I'd go.
Are G19's restricted or prohib?

MD Charlton sells g17s for 550? A family member works there, and couldnt beat a price of $590 for one w/2 mags - that's with staff discount....what sort of pricing do you get?

I've known and done buisness with Dlask for about 20 years now. I couldn't say enough good things about him or the work he does.

thanks for letting me know, but i am not interested in a G17 at all, it's bigger than i want and i do not like the weight distribution, i find the G19 is much more well balanced and is a good size as well...G19's are prohib, but come with a 106mm to make it restricted now

i find that 800 is too much to pay if mail ordering...i'd have to pay 5% tax and also delivery, but i definately still am considering it...what was the final total with delivery and tax? how long did it take to receive? did you have to do anything on your end in terms of ATT's or does Questar take care of it? i don't belong to a club as i recently just got my PAL and with the weapons i currently have, i would barely be going to the range, and also the range i want to join costs 140 no matter when you join and is not pro-rated. so if i joined now, all their memberships expire jan 31 so i feel it would be a waste, but i guess i would have to. i'll prolly pm you with more questions if i decide to buy from Questar, thanks man

btw ISG sells G19 for 650 and Wanstalls for 700, it's just a matter of waiting to get it in, and it may actually be worth waiting if i save that much

Personally, I'd be more concerned about why Dlask has a used G19 for sale. Do you know the history of the pistol? Is it a trade/buyback? What brand of restricted barrel has been installed?
I don't know your handgun experience, or if you're absolutely committed to a Glock, but you might want to try a S&W M&P9. They have a very nice balance, a 4 1/4" barrel, and aren't as ugly as a G17.
Having said that, a G19 certainly is a very desirable pistol, even with that bit of barrel protruding from the front of the slide.

Another vote for new from Questar.

You can listen to the opinions from people who have NOT bought a G19 from DLASK.

Or you can listen to the opinion of someone who has actually bought a G19 from Dlask.

I bought one of these Dlask used G19s, with a new aftermarket Lone Wolf 4 1/4" restricted barrel. Mine is fantastic. It is my favorite handgun.

The only thing bad to say about the Dlask G19s, is that they came from a large police force as surplus, and have the NYAWK trigger. I swapped the NYAWK horseshoe trigger spring for a conventional setup [ actually the 3 1/2 lb aftermarket nasty bits ].

PS: When I was at Dlasks last month, he only had ONE used G19 left in the safe. It looked near perfect to me ... hard to tell it was used.

Every deal I've done with Dlask has been a good one. While I was there, I swapped in a SS 5" OLYMPIC match barrel into my G 19, and the Dlask guys cut the barrel back to a more reasonable 4 1/4" for me for free.

Of course,
as with any other personal opinion found on the internet,
your personal mileage may vary.

I could've been misinformed but, I was told by a local shop that if you buy a G19 that has a longer barrel installed, the Glock warranty is void. Apparently Glock will tell you that the G19 was designed in the factory to use the shorter barrel and if you change it and damage your pistol, it's the owner's fault. I personally don't see how a longer barrel will hurt anything because my SIG 2022 has an extended barrel and I'm really happy with it and SIG warranty still stands. If you want a compact pistol I would recommend any of the SIGpro pistols.

thanks guys, its a tough call. I'm going to at least have a look at Dlask right now. It is for sure $725. I'm starting to lean towards Questar now though. I feel $725 is a lot to pay when i can get one for only a little more brand new. I may just give ISG and Wanstalls a little longer.

I've got a Glock 19 that I bought as a prohib and swapped a longer barrel into it. I ordered the barrel through questar, and it is probably my favorite pistol. I don't know about this warranty issue, but who cares, its a glock. All I have to say is, no matter where you can get one from, get one!

A friend was quoted $550 and might reflect a LEO discount.

can anyone tell me what a NYAWK Horseshoe Trigger is? Any links to a website showing them? I don't know what this kind of trigger is...I may actually get this pistol considering it's immaculate condition.

I picked up a G19 in the EE which was bought by the previous owner from DLASK IIRC. I think I paid $700. Anyways, its been great. No issues with the gun. Small nick on the top of the rear sight but the tritium still glows and the barrel is the blackened LoneWolf barrel which provides great accuracy and I like the looks off. Mine is a 2nd Gen which I like because I hate the finger groves on all Glocks but sometimes I do wish I had the rail to put a X200 on for that fun factor. I'll retake a better picture today.

nice, the one they have a Dlask right now is a 3rd gen, which is what i'm looking for...i just don't know if i want lone wolf or storm lake...i did want lone wolf, but from reading on this board i've heard ppl having problems with the finish chipping...i hate these decisions!

Think about it this way, if you decide to buy used for such a small difference in cost from going new and something goes wrong with the used gun you purchased, you're not going to think how great it was that you saved a few bucks. You'll be wishing you had bought a new Glock that nobody has shot except perhaps a Glock factory employee for testing purposes. And besides if you buy new then you can choose what options you want on your G19 like barrel manufacturer, barrel finish (stainless or black oxide) and what kind of sights you want on it. That will determine your true cost. It's all very fun and best of all it's new and it's all yours. Lots of people can and will advertise ultra low prices but if they have no stock then they aren't in the game as far as I'm concerned. You'll likely be waiting until your desire for your gun has faded into something else that's new and available or you'll just spend your money on overly priced ammo. And yes the G19 causes me to burn through ammo like you wouldn't believe. It is that fun. Today I just received my Galco leather holster for my G19. You see....you have to get one sooner then later. PM me anytime if you have questions and yes you should get your membership and LTATT in place as your going to be wishing you had it to take delivery of your new G19 and all the other wonderful pistols out there that you decide to own!

I was going to get a 3rd Gen G19 from Questar but at $799 + $120 for night sights + %14 taxes and shipping I would be looking at around $1100.

Hard to stomach when a new 3rd Gen G19 with NS goes for $560 in the US sans the barrel. LoneWolf sells the 106MM black G19 barrel for $129 and also sells a OEM G19 Barrel for $110, perhaps something should be worked out, or maybe it already has?

I know Questar has importation ect and has to deal with and the he new barrels add about $150~ but still for $1100 theres other guns nicer than a Glock that I could get, such as another $500 and I am into a nice 1911.

dannyair and scotty you both make very valid points. scotty i think i'm on your side when you say it's hard to stomach the final number. But dannyair you also have a good point as to why i shudn't wait. I think i might actually go purchase the G19 from Dlask. I found out my buddy bought his from there, and like previously mentioned they are practically new. They were issued to police, but pretty much just test fired. He has had no problems with his at all. His G19 is the only one i have ever shot and i love it! So it's sounding like Dlask right now peeps!

peace
