Thanks to Janka for sending me photos of my newest addition to my collection. It's a single action, 2nd generation Beretta 71.

These little alloy pistols have a good reputation for accuracy and reliability. I can't wait to try it out.

Janka described it as 98%. It sure does look like it's in excellent condition. As long as the bore is good and the magazine undamaged, it looks like a keeper.

Get a manual somewhere for disassembly. I seem to remember the takedown lever going the opposite way from the other Beretta's.

Thanks. I've heard that they are easy to disassemble. Anything has to be easier than my Norinco M93 Colt Woodsman clone.

I have a 71, great little 22 semi, my kids learned to shoot semi's with it. The 71 was one of the issued guns of Mossad, if I remember. - dan

Yes. I think the barrel is 90mm. There is a model out there, I think it is the 72, that has a 6" barrel.

Mine came today. S**t this is a tiny gun, you 12.6 guys are lucky f**kers. I'm gonna layout my cut mark on my 6" barrel tonight so I can chop it down and re-crown it on the metal lathe at work tomorrow. My dovetail bit and front sight from Brownells still haven't arrrived yet, ####ing customs.
