I think he's gone(going) out of the business. He has one of my head mounts as well and when I talked to him about it he said he's finishing up all outstanding jobs. I'll let you know when I've talked to him. What did you have in there?

I have A deer head mount.Nothing huge biggest I have shot though after 25 years of hunting. It is kinda my 25th anniversary buck.My first buck off our property and 1st deer with my new 7mm-08.So it is kinda special to me.Do you have a number you could reach him at,pm me if you have any info? Well went to his shop today everything is cleaned out peeked into the window.Looks like they are storing some sort of building supplies in there now.
:( if anyone knows where he might have moved his shop please let me know.

That sound terrible. Hope you guys get your heads back. At least you have a great picture there. What part of MB you take him from?

All is OK found out from Big Game that he moved from his shop recently and is continuing to finish off the animals he has.The buck was shot up by Eriksdale I have a 1/4 up there for hunting. Many thanks to Big Game.:)

It looked like that ground had that Interlake look to it. Nice buck do the elk ever pass through your property?

Yes there are a few of us on here who own land in the interlake, including yourself. The elk seem to use the area more in the winter months lots of tracks but I have yet to see one.You have elk around you?Hows the deer population? We have only owned the land for a year so I am still trying to pattern the deer in the area.I use to hunt Sandridge and Narcisse almost every year since 1991.

This will be our 6th year owning our property. I have not seen elk on our property. I saw a cow moose 2 years ago, and have seen some very huge tracks that would belong to either an elk or moose a few times. We have some bears causing a bit of nuisance in the spring after they wake up from hibernation (eating the seat out of my old sea doo, and putting his dirty paws on our trailers outhouse and what not.)

Our deer herd does not seem to big right now, but the deer we have are very big and healthy. There seems to be a lot, too many wolfs and coyotes around. You do not have to look hard to find dog crap with deer hair in it.

The way the dogs move the deer around, it seems one day you will see a lot of deer. That night you will here the dogs howling all directions around. Then the next few days we do not see any deer around. That is how we think the pattern has been like so far.

We are for the most part meat hunters but big horns is always a bonus. My dad says he missed a monster during muzzle loading season 3 seasons back. I have shot a few nice bucks but not quite a wall hanger yet.

Well where do you go from here, tried contacting him again via facebook a few times, totally ignores any e-mails I send him.All I am asking is to give me the time of day.Have you started the mount? If so can you give me an approximate time (month) when it will be complete. And do you even have the antlers anymore?
A man's taxidermy mounts are the rewards and respect for the animal of a successful hunt.
Where would you go from here?

can you drive to his shop?

If I had any idea where it is I would in a heartbeat.Unfortuninately he split up with his wife around Jan./Feb. they sold the house and shop and who knows where everything went. You think being a business man he would have contacted his clients or posted something in the local paper.
My hopes of finding my deer are growing less and less as days go by.Let me tell you the whole situation SUCKS and I wouldn't want to see anybody stuck in this rut.

What is it with taxidermists?! I here this same story all too often, just change the name and the place. It happened to a buddy of mine. Fortunately after several months of searching (and worrying), he found out that another taxidermist had taken over the unfinished work and my friend eventually got his trophy back.

Last fall I found myself in need of a taxidermist but the 2 local guys I knew of had seemingly vanished. Then this spring I went to a show and there the guys were. When I asked them what happened, their replies did not leave me with the confidence to bring them my next trophy.

I realize that life circumstances can change in an instant, but is it too much to ask for a phone call/letter to remaining clients, or at least a sign in the window or message on the answering machine?

Makes you wonder; what would you do if you shot something like the No. 1 whitetail buck. Who would you take it to? Would your mind be at ease while your trophy is out of your sight?

I hope you find your buck 7mm :)

This is garbage! To all the members here in manitoba, lets start beating the bushes here for this guy. He doesn't deserve to loose his trophy because of someone personal problems. Some one must know him personally... lets try to get some info for 7mm-08. This is not the way we do things here in manitoba.

7mm-o8 I think we're SOL. I've pretty well written off my $200 deposit and am just going to try and get my antlers back. I won Dennis Lake for non typical and muzzleloader with that buck so I'd really like to get my horns, capes can be replaced I guess. If I can snag them do you want me to grab yours?

Where in the hell did his bloody morals go?you think being a taxidermist he would understand the importance of a mount, instead of screwing you over.if you can locate my horns please pick them up I will do the same if I can help you out.
