Dont know if this was already posted but Larue looks like they are selling their own lowers now.

I wonder who makes em??

I am guessing that you are asking who made the forging. They are not forged though. Larue makes them from a solid billet. They will be nice up here when they find their way.

if i remember right they are a promotional item for their vendors and not a larue product, so they are basicly impossible to get

No, they are on sale to the public. $250 for a stripped lower IIRC. Probably $400 if it ever makes its way up here. They dont make that lower, they just ingrave LaRue on the side and call it a day. Its made by another company.

One of the guys "in the know" on calguns said that LaRue has a full manufacturers FFL now, so there actually is a possibility that they are made in-house.

They are limited to one-per customer, and they are only being sold to folks who have/are getting Stealth uppers.

They are pricey, but no worse than LaRue's $200 scope mounts.

Besides, LaRue ships hats, BBQ spices, and bottle openers with orders. That should be worth the extra! :)

Just like the Magpul lowers, I doubt they will make it up here.

While some say its may be just another lower but to me it would complete a pimpin ;) AR - Noveske barrel , LaRue Lower, Rail, Optics Mounts, Vltor Upper, Troy Sight and Magpul Stock Grip and XTM Rail Panels.

No reason why they wouldn't make it up here. the only issue might be the 5.56 caliber designation, but AFAIK the latest US export restriction is on 5.56 chambered barrels, not on lowers.

i'm puzzled about the practice of marking AR lowers with a caliber anyway. it's the barrel chamber that determines the caliber, not the lower or even upper receiver.

Sigh. Forging makes a stronger, tougher final product than billet machining.

It was the mountain bike weenies who convinced the world billet was somehow better. It's not. It's easier for small shops to get into, that's it. Lower cost of entry != better product. Considering whole beaches are black with AR lower forgings down south, this is a novelty item.

With billet you get a more consistent product. Forging and casting can lead to problems with porosity (air pockets), incomplete molds, errors in the mold, etc.

The big upside to billet is the more consistent internal structure of the metal, and cheaper start up as mentioned.

I allready have the Hat, BBQ spice, and tactical beverage entry tool.

Wife read the ingredient list on the BBQ spice and chucked it in the trash when I wasn't looking, evil woman, I just went out and bought another gun :)

I was speaking with a Larue rep a few weeks ago at a trade show and he indicated that they were in the final stages of setting up export of thier products to Canada.
