Put your hunting where you mouth is!

Go on at least 2 trips a year, and have done so for the last 10 years at least. Most of it Saskatchewan when I was a resident there. Been up to Hudson Bay Sask for moose (1996, 1997, 1998 (got a 4 year old bull), 2002, 2003) Arber Field Sask for Elk (2006) Got a Whitetail every year from 1993-2006 except in 2002. Got a 173 Net Score Mule Deer last Year. Going for Sheep in Alberta in about 2 weeks now. The rest of this year not 100% yet, Sask for Whitetail for sure. And lots of Ducks and Geese thrown in there also.

So, it is ok for you to have a mouth and end up hunting bunnies and roos?
I'm sorry I have no stories of "barrel scorching Auzzie cull hunting" because it does happen but then like many of you I have limitations on my time and money.
If you mean kangaroos I've taken a few of them in my time :wave:but then they aren't really hunting, just spotlighting.
gitrdun, I'm not really sure what I did to piss you off but all power to your "good ol'd Saskatchewan boys".
I wish I could hunt bear and whitetails and moose.
I hope at some point to get to Nth America as a couple of members of this forum have invited me as have some American friends.
As things stand I'm about to get into deer hunting here and my last decent sized game was a wild goat which I talked about on the first page of this thread.
And I thought I spelt it out to people that no one had anything to prove.

Now, let's see if someone can misinterpret this harmless response...... ;)

WTF? I keep reading the original post by the Auzzie and I can't seem to draw offence from it........ have I suddenly lost some level of comprehension? I usually don't misunderstand things so completely as I have with this original post. Someone please tell me what I am missing. I am starting to feel the need to jump on someone's throat. Come on, someone give me a reason.........

I didn't find anything offensive either.

Here, let me help.

This is a hunting arms forum and I'm definitely not leveling this criticism at everyone but I often get the distinct impression that some people do a lot more hunting than others and that those others are nonetheless quite "knowledgeable" about something they rarely do.
So with that suspicion lurking around I feel it may be time to, as the title says, put your hunting where you mouth is.
When was your last hunt?

You guys can't tell me that you fail to see how that might ruffle a few feathers?

I don't think they have alot to hunt there, but hy sure have enought stuff to dodge, seems everything that slithers walks on 8 legs or swims,or just hangs around your garden ,can sure turn a sunny day into a emergency room type of week, lets see some or our guys grad a brown snake by the tail, or fish really close to the water in some spots, and I hear the pigs can get a little nasty, and I wouldn't take on a camel, it.s a reaally different place.............

LOl

Anyone who wants to be a fanboy of an insulting bunny hunter is welcome. Canada is a free country.:)
I have no issue with that, blargon.
Yeah, we have seasons on some animals but the bulk are feral and pests so it's open season all year round.
Doesn't mean however that I don't go months at times without hunting because, like you, my wife and 3 little boys are first priority.
I'm trying to weed out the "know alls" who stroke their guns but never get further than the range where they shoot very little and talk a load of crap with their do-nothing buddies there as well.
Believe me, those guys exist the world over and we have plenty of them too.
I won't start on about the twerp who was throwing his weight at the range this morning....
And I was aware that as this is a Canadian forum that many of you would probably not have hunted for many months because of seasons.

Oh boy, what a thread.... I'm between scouting trips and bored counting down till Sept 1 so I'll toss my two bits in.

Last hunt was late June for spring bear. Spring bear season goes from April to the end of June here but can be disrupted, like this year, by a large snow pack. Due to where I live I'll usually be out one day a week and sometimes after work as well. I have to balance this off with the honey-do list and the maintenance of domestic bliss... I could have easily punched a tag but I passed on a lot of bears because I did not see what I wanted.

I have not bought beef since August 2007 due to a freezer full of moose and deer - last year was not unusual in this respect. I will be out of moose by mid September this year.

I think the original posters intent was a thread on "What do you hunt and how often?" I took no umbrage with the wording in the original post. The whole point, for me, in participating in a forum like this is gaining further knowledge and contributing from my own knowledge, personal experience when it makes sense to do so.

Life being what it is there is always going to be someone more experienced or knowledgeable than you in a given field so keep your BS filter on and benefit from the opportunity.

Should Kombi want a inventory of game taken as of late and with what caliber, all that he had to do was ask. No need for his god damned redericks about BS and the likes of his statements. I shoot year round, nearly every second day. Do I kill anything everytime that I shoot..nope. So in his eyes, that makes me a either a wannabee or a liar. :)

Good post! There are a bunch of people on here that come across as know it all blowhards. Slagging guns they don't own and have never fired, pissing on people's ideas, and just being jerks because they can hide behind a computer.

redericks

What is this word, I've looked it up in dictionary to no avail?

That was my last kill! It was a 9points with a very nice body on him. 1 shot to the liver and a second one to finish him thru the neck. It was a awsome day. Its too bad i was hunting by myself but...the victory beer was just as good!

Totally agree. Ive never hunted caribou, sheep, african and I can learn in this forum. However, to report as if accountable to a bunny boy is pathetic.
