What do you guys find as the easiest to clean .22 semi-auto/ From my experience (limited as I don't have many .22 semi's) the Coey 64b seems quite simple and easy to clean.

I'm not sure what would get my vote for easiest. My 597 and TC R-55 are definitely not easy to clean as far as I am concerned. 10/22 is a little better, but I don't look forward to it thats for sure. I use brakleen on the 10/22 now though as I really don't give a sh*t about it anyway.

I like old Mossbergs like 152 models - you do not have to remove barrel, just unscrew rear cap and pull the guts out. No need to re-sight after each cleaning. Too bad they don't make those anymore.

Like the 64 - first time found the only tricky part to be the ejector that connects to both barrel and action (the design of barrel separating from receiver likely not do much for accuracy though).

Tomorrow will try the R55 for the first time, Farls, any tips? Now have some trepidation.

u clean your rimfires? havent cleaned mine in about 1500 rounds, me 10/22 still gets me holes punched that are touching each other at 100 with bulk federal. there may be mods but still!

Easieast way to clean an auto

.
One of the easiest .22 autos to clean is the Browning .22 Auto. Unlock and turn the barrel 1/4 turn.......it come apart. Slide the trigger guard forward, and it comes out.

You can now clean the barrel from the breech end. You can clean the breech block, firing and trigger mechanism, and by holding the receiver down, clean it easily using a spray type cleaner.

Lightly lubricate, and assemble.

In fact, a lot of .22 semi-autos can be taken apart by simply unscrewing one stock screw. This allows access to the trigger/firing mechanism. By using one of the spray cleaners.....such as automotive carburetor cleaner.....you can give it a few shots to clean out the crap. You should then LIGHTLY lubricate the bolt, inside receiver and trigger mechanism, because these carburetor type cleaners really take out the crap, and also any oil or lubrication that is present.

Dude, its an excuse to fondle them more without getting in #### from the wife/gf.

22 semi-auto's are my thing, I have owned/handle all mentioned above, and quite a few that were'nt. In my experience, the Beretta semi auto rifle is the simplest to take down to clean the barrel (from breech), bolt and receiver. Walther #1, and #2 would fall into this catagory as well. Then I would say the Weatherby XXII would be the next easiest. When it comes to fully dismantling trigger groups, in my experience, the Brno 581/CZ 511, and the 10/22 are the easiest.

Just my two cents...
