Russian SKS45 long thread.

I hope our SKS's weren't on that Ukrainian ship that was hijacked by pirates a few days ago.

Sob! They were on board!

First they had to drop off the tanks, and then they were going to skip across the pond and drop off our rifles.

Oh the humanity!

Seriously though, I sure feel slighted knowing they seemingly have the time to ship tanks to third world nations, but our SKS's are probably still deep in the Ukraine.

I guess we aren't paying enough to receive prompt service...

Just got this in my e-mail from Frontier...whatever this means...

Our Russian SKS order is still 8-10 weeks away. We have been able to find another supplier who has a small number of Russian SKS rifles (just cleared customs today). There will only 100 rifles available. Because of the smaller quantity and the extra middle men involved we will be offering this batch of rifles at $225.00 each plus shipping and GST. We have a limited supply of surplus ammo in stock and we will be offering discounts for ammo purchased and shipped with your rifle. Contact us for pricing and a shipping quote.

First chance to purchase these rifles will be given to any one who has already placed an order with us, until October 6th. After Oct 6 orders will be taken on a first come first serve basis. Rifles will be shipped Mid October. For those who wish to wait for our main shipment, the original pricing will be honored once that container arrives.

Frontier Taxidermy & Firearms

Well I was about to post the same, but I guess CZ52 beat me to it. We will not be offering and hand selection on thse rifles (nothing un issued or all matching). What it means is that we found another source for rifles but we can only get 100 (not 400), and they are in the country now.

Let me get this straight. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Those who have waited for months still have to wait. But if your willing to pay a bit more you can get one of our special order rifles within a few weeks at an elevated price.
Is this correct?

Is this correct?

1) yes, 300 of the orders would still have to wait .

2) yes, pay a bit more , approx the shipping cost as for the shipping was included in the original order .

original shooter grade was $229.95+GST , now is $225+ship+GST .

I dont care how minimal the price difference is. The first 100 who ordered should getthe rifles first. Simple as that. If you waited you get them first as promised.
First order in, first rifles out!!!

FYI:

I didn't even buy one from Frontier. I just know bad business when I see it. I feel for the guys who have waited all this time. They should get their sks first for the price they originally agreed to.

FYI , i placed an order for two the first day with frontier and i cancelled after i ordered from SIR , so ?

whats bad? as long as the first 100 already placed orders get first crack at this small shipment . they can decide for themselves if they wanna fork out more and get one sooner or wait , its their call .

we all know the original shipment was with bell , this small shipment is with another supplier .

So can we get any info about these rifles? Matching numbers? what condition?

I think $270 is a better price for a hand picked all matching rifle in VG condition, than $220 for a non matching glued together sks with "Hans ist meine hündin" scratched into the stock and an "authentic looking rust colored finish"

I'm just curious. Getting that delicious Russkie now would be awesome, but I can't be sure it's worth the trade-off.

No body is been forced to buy these, we only found out recently that they were even coming, the problem is that this importer has set their prices alot higher (I asume because of the demand). The benifit is that they are now IN CANADA while the other batch is still over seas. And yes they will get the rifles for the original price, when the original order (that costed 30% less) shows up.

1bigrn feels that I am doing bad buisness here. If he is willing to haul 1000 pounds of rifles across the country and spend 4 of his days transfering and packaging them, and on his way home he brings them to the post office on his dime, I will be more then willing to offer the same price. I have never asked anyone to go to work in a day to loose money, I expect no one asks that of me.
