Went to my whitetail spot a few days ago, pulled my camper in at 8 at night. The next morning walked into the area where I got a 6x6 last year.Where the trail entered an old aspen cut I put some tinks 69 on a rag I had, what a stink.I decided to try a few calls.Let out a few doe bleats and a couple of grunts and waited for a bit.I thought I could hear some crunching in the bush so I waited a few more minutes. There was definately something walking my way!!Set my savage 112 in 25-06,with my newly loaded 110gr accubonds, atop my bog pod and watched.A deer was coming in,just a small forkhorn. He came within 20 or so yards in the bush across the trail and stopped.I waited with him watching me and he did not seem spooked just curious.I heard a bleat aways off and that got me excited.I slowly took my call out of my pocket with my left hand, still supporting my rifle with my right, and blew a bleat back.Crunch,Crunch through the bush came the sound.A fairly decent buck was coming into view and stopped about 35-40 yards away.I could not get a great look at his rack so I waited for a better view.Meanwhile junior decides to come onto the trailI was standing on to get a better look or smell. He walked to within 10 yards of me when he realized I was not another deer and his tail went up and he blew like crazy as he dashed off, spooking the bigger buck. The bigger one turned and started to walk back into the willows where he had emerged from 2 minutes before.I had my Leupold trained on him and thought well I had better shoot.Let one shot go broadside into him.He ran about 20 yards and piled up.Not a great buck but neat how it all came together being so close to them.Short hunt but fun.The accubond took the top of the heart and exited, breaking ribs in and out so no bullet recovery. Will post a few pics.Rifle used was a savage 112 varminter,26" barrel, leupold vx3 6.5-20 varmint hunter reticle.110 grain accubond,50 gr IMR 4831.

COngrats!Nice deer loved your story!Where do you buy the tinks 69 or whatever it is from?I suppose it is a lure,Thanx.

I actually got my lovely wife to pick it up for me at wal-mart,cannot believe she actually did!!!Told her to buy me some doe pee,and man does it ever stink bad.I put it on a rag I had in my vest pocket, only five or ten drops, and crap I had to put it on the ground, made my eyes water.I think that is why the little buck came so close.

Thats a nice looking whitetale. My buddy used accubonds for a few years and they always worked well out of his 300wm.

Great Deer....

I also used Accubonds this season and was impressed with their performance.

Nothing wrong with that bullet. Mine went through front shoulder....lungs and opposite ribs and lodged under hide(which was kinda cool cause I got to keep the bullet).

This was on a 300lb Mulie Buck @ 328 yards. 160gr. 7mm Rem Mag. 3050 f.p.s. Was a shade over 75% weight retention. The best part is the B.C of this bullet is .531.
