-Often young/junior/or just plain stupid staff at any store will trod along all happy, with their heads up their a---s, blindly serene in their ignorance. I once overheard a kid working in a downtown Toronto Canadian Tire tell the customer ahead of me that they didn't sell ammunition, because it was a criminal offence for anyone to own/possess any ammunition in downtown Toronto! This was about 8-10 years ago, long before mayor McCheesy and his anti-gun witch-hunt.
-When I got to the counter I politely informed him that he was wrong and asked where he got such a silly idea...his boss in the CT sports department told him? He also very condescendingly (he was a snotty little prick) told me that I was wrong and that it was illegal, and that I could be charged if I had any. I then just as politely asked where in his complete ignorance of law did he get the idea that FEDERAL criminal law allowed for legal ammo possession everywhere else in Canada, but not downtown Toronto? Had Toronto formally seceded from the rest of Canada (I could only wish...). Was every Toronto Police officer in violation of federal law by carrying ammo on duty?
-I further told him that if he enjoyed his job and his store liked staying in business he should probabaly avoid providing customers free, and clearly incorrect, legal advice. The Toronto businesses that lawfully sold ammunition alone, could easily take offence to being called criminals by a competitor.
-Now, outside of Toronto, & back in Canadian civilisation, the Kenora Canadian Tire has an excellent selection of firearms, ammo, reloading supplies, components, & tools. Very nice place to see when in Kenora.
