Can a SIG-Sauer be used by southpaws?

You can switch the mag release. And you can just get a gun without a de-cocker or practice using your trigger finger on your left hand, or get a DAK model without one.
 
Are you talking about a 226/220? If so, sure they can! The mag release can be switched to the right side so you left thumb can use it! Youd have to get use to the slide catch and decocker on the right though! In PPC/DUTY I shoot mine left hand...just takes abit of getting used to
 
I'm a lefty and shoot a 226 all the time. I find the slide release is close enough for me to manipulate it with my left thumb, I use my index finger to work the decocker and mag release. Kind of awkward but find it much easier then 1911 or glocks.

So you move your left thumb around the back to hit the button? I'd love a video of that. I have used 1911s with my trigger finger, but can't use a Glock.
 
or reach up with your trigger finger and use the middle joint to kinda push it down..... its not THAT far fetched...
 
Guy's, why are you worried about the slide release. You should be placing your off hand over the top of the slide pulling back and releasing the slide forward. This is the standard method used in training and is much more reliable especially in a stressful situation.

The slingshot method is what is being taught at most academy's / courses now. They recommend using the full force of the spring to put the slide back into battery. Start doing it at the range and you'll never go back to the slide release method. I've switched and now it feels unnatural to use the slide release. YMMV

PS. I loved my 226, great gun.
 
i as a southpaw have never had any trouble useing any firearm. it just takes practice to manipulate the controls. i thought when i had my glock that i would have trouble with the slide release, but with practice it only took a few hours to get the feel for it. so i beleive we can do anything we put our minds to
