Finally got my new Win 70 Featherweight in 30-06 from EPPS. Fit and finish is almost perfect. Better than the average rifle made before the FN era.

The only thing I'm not sure is the trigger guard and floorplate assembly. It looks like it's made of steel and aluminium. May change it for a William (all made of steel). The trigger is very very good. No creep, break like glass. Haven't shot it yet.

Here's som pictures. My guess is that the wood is awsome for a rifle that was sold to me for less than 800$ (brand new!!!). :p

Nuff said....

Not bad for the price.....?

I'll probably put some Talley rings and bases along my Swarovski 2.5X10X42.

After a few scratches, I'll make an oil finish on the stock. The wood will look even better. Pillar bedding will also be done by my smith before next season.

The only rifles I have seen with such a nice wood were either customs or high end rifle. The wood is alsmost as nice as my Beretta SPIII O/U (which cost almost 4 times the price of this rifle). It's like a dream. Nice wood and a M70 pre-64 action better made than what they used to be. What else can you ask? Maybe groups under an inch...lol!!!

Thanks for the nice comments!

Recently handled one. Awesome rifle. Workmanship and a sense of quality is amazing. Let us know how it shoots.

absolutely beautiful rifle, I love the looks of those. I just wish they would come out with a better selection of calibers, something a little more exciting than the old standby cartridges

Sweeeeeet!

That IS some nice looking wood!

The little eye above the sling stud on the right side of the butt. Is it part of the wood? If so, it was probably responsible for the stock blank being graded for a more or less standard grade of rifle. Some guys would be PO'd about finding something like that on their stock. I like stuff like that. Adds character! :)

Wonder if we're seeing the start of the Post '08 era? Looks like the metalwork is pretty decent. Hope it shoots as well!

Cheers

Damn

You know...I had phoned Wholesale and tracked one down (fwt in 30/06) and was going to order one and then I convinced myself to save my pennies (I already have a 2004/2005 or so in 300wsm). NOW...you go and post those pics and I'm back to thinking I absolutely have to have one.

Thanks a lot! I got GAS real bad. (Gun Aquisition Syndrome)

Beauty gun and congrats. Look forward to hearing how she shoots. (i've heard they're pretty good)
