Just got a new one-pound bottle of Varget.
Using the same load, in the same rifle as from a previous bottle, the rifle had noticeably more recoil, and it really flattened primers in my 308. One of them was heavily smoked around the perimeter.
Stopped shooting and went back to the bench. Ended up reducing the load four grains to get same velocity!
I had read there were some issues in this regard with Varget, but had no idea it was approaching 10% difference!
Bullet was 150 gr CT Nosler partition.
