Norinco 1911 Police Model and NP58 now IN STOCK.

Well you are in Ontario after all and transfer can take a while so I would just be patient and wait. I guessing by how busy CanAm has been lately they probably have lots of order from Ontario and have given the CFO lost of work to do so its going to take a while.

Someone asked about the quality of the finish on Norc 1911's, I had owned mine for at least a month before I realized there's some kind of really ugly sh*t on them. Do yourself a huge favour, get some Flitz metal polish and give them a good cleaning. If you do you'll find that Norinco's blueing is as good as pretty much every modern gun maker (and better than some). Several people have asked where I got mine reblued! While you're cleaning, detail strip it and you'll find there's crap in them, get rid of the crap, it will make the pistol feel much better and function perfectly for a very long time. I'm at over 5,000 and counting and still waiting for an FTF/FTE/FT anything but go boom and group nicely. These pistols are very capable of excellent accuracy.

Actually you'll find that the polish will remove a fine layer of rust which is sitting on top of the finish in the pores of the metal. You only need to do this once, as Flitz will leave a coating in the pores that protects the finish (the pistol won't be affected by sweat after using Flitz on it) after that you just wipe it down with a silicon cloth and it'll sparkle! Powder residue will wipe off too.

Questions to Can-Am:

1. How long does it take to process an item ordered thru the website?

2. Exactly: How long from when an order becomes "queued" to when it's processed? [i.e. if it's a "restricted" that is "in stock"]?

3. And do persons who have ordered get emails on the progress of the processing? [i.e. status goes from "queued" to "processed" to "shipped", etc].

4. Just wondering on a ball park, given no hold-ups in processing [i.e. item is in stock, transfer goes thru in the normal fashion i.e. dealer to individual in B.C. is usually 1 or 2 days etc], from time of order to shipping?

Thanks in advance,

NAA.

Where did you buy flitz ? all I can find is Peek at Canadian tire, is it the same stuff ?

Took my dads out last night for the first time, for $349 this gun is hard to beat. The only change I would make is a flat mainspring housing and a regular slide stop.

Actually the hard part is the picture.

I tried on shinning blued guns, the result is nothing but a black mess.

I have a tube of Autosol, but can't find out if it contains abrasives or not. I know the Flitz does not contain abrasives. Anyone try Autosol yet, or think it would work as well as Flitz for cleaning/polishing?

Rubbing compound

I have the green stuff in a bloc , i use a cotton wheel .
First i sand it with coarse to very fine an then use my cotton wheel with my block of compound. It's mirror like if you want :D

Had my own questions answered in the process of ordering:

1. Ordered thru the website on Dec 01 [notified via email that order had been received and was "queued"]. Order processed on Dec 08 [notified via email that order was "processed"] Order shipped on Dec 11 [notified via email with tracking number] and received on Dec 12.

2. "Queued" to "processed" was approximately 1 week. Not too bad considering the season and the run Can-Am must be having on some of the cool items for sale on the website.

3. Email notifications thru whole process as described above.

4. Time from order to shipping was 10 days.... [Noted that the CFC/BC CPFO took 2 days to "approve" restricted transfer is also included in this].

Item arrived well packed and secure.
