Selling US M14 stocks...

no , it's state department rules and U.S. citizens who violate these rules face a 10,000 fine..... and ebay has a no sales of firearms parts intended for export policy. ANY and ALL parts designated for the M14 rifle require state dept approval for export. ..... even the stocks. If the stock has a selector hole, it IS an m14 stock...... no selector hole, it is no longer an m14 stock and is infact an M1A stock, which IS exportable. STILL a u.s. private citizen can not export ANY gun parts without a state dept firearms export liscence. I am unclear if this covers anything and everything firearm related.
Fact is most guys in the states are probably as foggy on the actual laws as most of us are. Let's face it thier gov't and ours don't make all this stuff easy for average joe to interpret.

Just because someone will ship does not mean it's legal for them to do it.
i can give you the email address of the poor fellow in Idaho that tried sending me a stock 3 years ago. Then you can talk to my employer at the time and ask him about how fun it was to have to fly down to seattle to get my ass out of holding, while I was being detained enroute to a business meeting in Reno. All for a 50.00 usgi fiberglass M14 stock
The hoops i had to jump through to regain access to the U.S. , it also affected my Port Authority Security status and I had my port pass suspended as well... not fun having a 50.00 an hour job and not being able to perform it due to a 50.00 mistake.I am sure they will be more than forgiving if you get caught
lots of things cross the U.S. border illegally, both knowingly and unknowingly by those that carry them across. Hell even whole human beings (from mexico) manage to cross the u.s. border........ they and others they know have been doing it for decades...... it's still illegal though

I wasn't doubting you......but it isn't illegal for us to order it and take reciept of it in Canada...is it? Are you telling me that the Americans detained you because you were the addressee of the item and they had you on file?

Just to clarify, if its an M1a stock, I can bring it across ?? Does the $100 dollar limit apply ??
Reason I ask, I just brought back an unfinished walnut m1a stock from Boyds ..... was on sale, clearance price $32.99 us. Did I just break the law ??

Last year I was denied an import permit for a bunch of m14 stocks. No matter how much I argued they insisted it was part of a prohibited firearm and therefore could not be imported into canada.
So the m14 stock cannot be exported from america without a permit. Also, it cannot be imported into canada because they won't issue an import permit. As explained to me, the only way to get an import permit is if you have a firearms business licence which specifically permits import of prohibited parts.

M1A rifles and parts were never classified as military firearms/parts. Early springfield stuff yes, but then we are talking M14. The recreated springfield came out with the M1A and it is not an M14.
M1A stocks are identifiable as they do not have a selector switch cutout.
The only usgi stocks i have managed to import with no issues and all the proper paper work, were advertised and sold as M1A stocks. They all had the selectors filled and were in primer finish prior to sale.
If a business in the states were to start offering fiberglass g.i stocks in the M1A configuration, I do not see why they couldn't be exported providing the business was liscenced to export.
What most private u.s. citizens don't realize when selling firearm items, stocks , ect , is that "anyone" who exports a firearm item outside the us. , must have an export liscence...... most guys on ebay and such don't realize this.

I gave up on trying to bother with importing such things and decided to set up a shop and make what i can not import and I'm almost there

Wow, now I am paranoid. I just bought a synthetic stock off eBay a guy re-finished with a grey urban camo pattern. It's not a USGI one, it's just a plain synthetic one he custom painted. The only problem is the title of the auction is M1A "or" M14 synthetic stock.

Maybe the M1A title gets around it. I was looking at some similar stocks with that designation. They were titled M1A but you could see the selector cut out....
