KAC only ships 10 at a time to dealers. Even if you are in the US, it is not easy to come by. Their production rate is ridiculously slow.

Why are you asking that?? any known issues with the E3 bolts ??

The "E3" bolt is what LMT's been using and selling in their rifles as their enhanced bolt for several years now. We've had no issues with them and there's no problem getting replacements if that was required.

Does anyone know how they dealt with the muzzle device issue? I'm guessing theyre pinned brakes, but it doesnt say...

Did they come in as .223 Rem or .223 Wylde?

Nice to know! do they work in standard barrel extensions?

I had a hard on for the E3 when they first were made known, but never thought any would show up here (good work Questar). I built myself a clone of it using available high quality parts, the E3 bolt is missing from the equation so that might be next on my list.

Mark,

The E3 bolt is different than the LMT bolt. There are many similarities, however the KAC bolt is on continous tangent radius around the bolt face.

Meaning both the "pockets" and "lugs" are radiused. The LMT bolt, only the "lugs" are radiused.

The KAC "E3" bolt requires a special barrel extension and no other bolt will work.

The LMT bolt is a drop in part. I am a KAC fan, however, I like LMT's statagy is better

Not correct. LMT has their own "Enhanced" Bolt.

I'll see if I can get a better pic next week.

KAC's is proprietary - Jerry "The Burner" Barnhart is on his second SR15E3 - the first did over 20k with no parts issues -- the gun opened up to over 2MOA and the gun was swapped to examine in Titusville.

Chris Costa has well over 10k on his training gun as well.

I am hoping to be able to put a SR15E3 in Larry Vickers hands in early Jan as well.

SR15E3 production is continuing and there are a bunch ready for shipping. KAC is currently reviewing civilian sales methods. A fire last week turned up some "old" SR15's with 1:7.7 Kreiger barrels and no muzzle device.
The current SR15E3 uses a Diemaco barrel blank - the SR25 series gun still use the Obymeyer.

FYI BigRed and I both discontinued use of the LMT "Enhanced" bolt in Iraq - it seems to have less tension that the Crane O Ring and Colt Bolt.

With the E3 you will have a bolt for the entire life of the barrel - the bbl extension and bolt are "faced" on the same machine (some Swiss thing, admittedly I look in and don't fully understand the machine)
KAC stands behind the product and will deal with any issues that crop up.

I stand corrected... these guns just arrived and we've had no time to even go out and play with one. At a glance it looked just like the LMT Enhanced Bolt so I figured they were the same... obviously I was wrong.

There is no problem getting parts for export if the bolt is an issue... though I haven't heard of that being the case.

I also like LMT's strategy better. I've been a fan of their Enhanced Bolt and Carrier since they released them.

P.S. Stop by KAC at SHOT - and come out to the open house at Titusville, the new MG Museum, and Reed's new Tank Museum will be unveiled, plus of course the Small Arms areas - Stoner Museum, and side rooms on US rifles since 1776.

Plsu some shooting demo's with the PDW, LMG, SR15, SR16, M249 and the PVS-26 (for those of you who like the PVS22 - the 26 is the HEAT).
