Okay, Moronto, Bantario CGN M14 lovers, I'm getting this cranked out for YOU!

Busta Capp has worked to organize this clinic once again at the Barrie Gun Club! Tell all of your Toronto and GTA M14 addicts that 17 Sep Saturday will see another Hungry M14 Clinic. :D

* Date: Saturday 17 January 2009
* Location: Barrie Gun Club
* Cost: $ 35
* Timings: 0900 start - Likely finish up around 1600 hrs

Material Covered:

- Tools for tweaking, tools to avoid, tools that are nice to have but expensive, tools that are overrated and too expensive
- Gadgets that are nice to have, need to have, and useless to have (but I had to buy it to show you)
- Tools that you can make yourself instead of buying, tools that you can have buddies (owe you favors) make up for you
- Stripping the boomstick (you will be surprised at what I can show you)
- Assembling the boomstick, and what to look for so that worthwhile tweaks can be or should be made
- Tweaks that work, tweaks that don't work, expensive tweaks so yer #### does not fall off
- Useless tweaks unless you have more money than shooting ability (many stories to follow at the clinic)
- Common pitfalls, expensive tweaks that work, more ways to ensure that yer #### don't fall off
- Lunch and then tweaking in the afternoon, shimming, pounding out more shims (all hands on activities)
- Lots of networking and socializing all the time. This is priceless (even if the $ 35 only covers my costs).

* Things to bring: your M14, some basic tools, notebook, pens, digital camera, rags, ball peen hammer, punches, screwdrivers, more punches, TIG Welder, Service Truck (vise for rebarreling), fired brass for us to measure, plastic or rubber mallet, wood block or 2, Black and Decker Workmate (clamping ability for your barreled action or stock), masking tape, duct tape, Loctite (blue and red stuff), more to follow as I remember or remind myself.

* Registration: PM (don't use email) me on the board. I'll send you payment instructions. You can choose EMT (electronic money transfer for you online banking fans) or Snail Mail cheques/buried cash. We'll just stick with the fee ! I will use this forum (right here ) to monitor the numbers and payment details. With your payment, ensure that you remind me of your CGN handle and what location the clinic is in since I'm running a clinic a month... these days. :D :evil:

Come on Hungray, Ottawa needs another session!!! What happens if it snows in Toronto and the military is called in to shovel them out, you will have to move it my way....:D

Berger: I'm planning on a mid March Ottawa Clinic... gotta plan with JohnOne at Marstar. Keep reading the MBR Forum (Hungry)

No M14 Yet-Can I still come

I don't have an M14 yet, but have ordered one. Can I still come without one? Or should I wait until I have it in my hot little hands?

Yes, you can. You can always play with someone's M14(s) because many others bring more than ONE to have it tweaked. That's where YOU come to help tweak THEIR M14 (more practice for YOU).

Besides, networking with BustaCapp, ME and the usual suspects is always a good thing. :evil:

Then you get to connect faces, names and also resource people on the CGNutz board..... priceless!

Cheers,
Barney

any chance to shoot at this gathering ? my scope needs to be mounted properly, but only way to find out if it is or not is to shoot the thing.

How many of these things are necessary and how many are luxuries? Im assuming not everyone has a TIG welder or a black and decker workmate (Table?)...

What, only 13.What the h.e. double hockey sticks has happened to Central Canada (or as I like to call it the middle east)Hungry I think its time to move back west.

Hungry here: don't tempt me... Sosa was doing just the same thing while I was in Edmonton. What makes things even goofier (read: more attractive) is the fact that I am a Hongcouver expat and Univ of Alberta grad (so Edmonchuk WAS home for me, many moons ago). Besides, I'm getting tired of living here in Lieberal Land, even if most of the seats are CPC here in Bantario. :D

Two quick questions:

a. Is anyone heading up from Toronto who'd be able to offer a ride for this car-deprived citizen of Mayor Miller's socialist republic?

b. I have a few M14s that need their barrels indexed. I presume that's a first priority before the other accurizing tweaks, especially since they'll be used with open sights for the forseeable future, and I don't have access to a barrel vise. Will it be possible to fix the indexing at this clinic?

Hungry here: Are you certain we even need to re-index? I'll give you a 2nd opinion there. If we can get a heavy enough vise, sure thing. If we cannot, then I'll have you come and visit me in Collingwood and we can carry out re-barreling mischief in my basement like other CGNutters have done in the past. That's the one advantage of living in South and Central Bantario, I've got yer back! It will just cost you a Kelsey's steak! :D

With Regards,

Frank
