Russian SKS45 long thread.

You know what I've been thinking, collectible is only collectible if there is someone who wants them. It sounds like there is alot of them coming into the country so I am going to shoot mine rather than let it sit and gather dust!

You and me three - I know they may be special, but - they have already had their mags pinned, so regardless, they are still altered. If you take very good care of it and clean it very well after shooting, I don't think it's value in a few years will drop much. True, an unfired and unissued will be worth more in the future, but I highly doubt you would lose any money on a gently used Russian. Enjoy it, but respect it.

x2

I ordered a hand select and it will be going to the range with me every time. :D

I did just that with my new (unfired?) Epps SKS and it felt soooo good. Too late for me :ban:

I see what the others are saying about not firing, and I guess every person has to make up their own mind. It's kinda like owning a classic car - it sure would be nice to have an as new 1970 Hemi 'Cuda, but man, every time it was nice out, it would kill me not being able to take it out for a drive...

Imagine if by some stupid chance there was a gun ban and they got taken away and you had never taken it out of the safe. LOL. I am being a smart ass now! Let's just love our new babies. What are we going to do about this thread after we get them????

Form an SKS club, and everyone's invited.

We could allways take our rare unfired SKS & weld them up solid & turn them into Dewat's

But don't tell "Curtton" . He would have a heart attack !!!!
LOL
Just joking Mr "T"

Unfired or not, I myself would shoot it. I think if your aim was to have a collection of SKS from different countries then sure, shooting an unfired Rusky would not be wise, but if you were only going to own one, SHOOT IT

Its hard to guess what the value will be in the future, but I am sure it will never be a Super sought after item that will give you thousands of dollars in return for you never actually enjoying the firearm. I mean, just having this shipment arrive finally has probably cut the value of my Russian in half. Before this shipment arrived, I am sure I could have gotten $400 for my Russian, that was the going price for one in very good condition. Its all supply and demand.

Of course, this is just my opinion, I am also the kind of guy who would drive a vintage car around instead of leaving it for "show" in my garage. Life is short, enjoy it now while you can, lol or else when your old and leave all your kewl stuff to your kids, they WILL use and enjoy them.
