check out sl-8.de they have conversion kits.

I looked at hera, and ArmsEast has been looking into them for a couple weeks for me. The thing with the HERA stocks is that by the time they get to Canada it'll be over $800. Judging by the prices on this website here, it'll be alot cheaper and better looking too. For some unknown reason the HERA folding stock is about 4 shades lighter than the rest of the gun

I have no idea how SL-8.de works, i stumbled on it a while back, and book marked it. and i think some one linked it in the past.

Looks retarded with the long barrel. It needs a trip to the gunsmith... :D

I mean, if it's gonna be restricted, might as well look good... right?

Don't do that.

You need to talk to gman654 here on CGN. He has done a successful HDPS mod with proper parts. Yes mods, that is a link to HDPS, but a nod to gman and GP Tactical, an approved dealer here on CGN. GP Tactical is the only vendor I am aware of who has bought these parts into Canada.

I compared to my genuine HK UMP .45 and there was very little visual or functional difference. Below is my photos of the genuine UMP. Pictures posted to clarify that I am not talking out my ass regarding comparisons.

Key differences:
  • The molded plastic receiver on the USC does not have the locking notch for the folding stock
  • Therefore, the stock does not lock when in the folded position (a useless poser feature anyway)
  • The USC does not have the molded eyelet on the LHS rear for the sling
  • The ejection port is physically smaller on the USC
  • The USC lacks the UMP trade marks
  • The HDPS Picatinny rails are closer to M1913 spec than the ghey factory HK ones that gear rattles around on.
  • I could be wrong as I am running off memory on this last one, but I believe the USC bolt lacks the forward assist groove

Considering that the HDPS kit uses a UMP lower, it feeds the proper double stack magazines as opposed to the regular USC abortions.

Most importantly, the UMP cost me $7000.00. Yes $7000. Go ahead an laugh. It is cheaper than a quad.

Note however, that the USC conversion is only about $3500 total. Therefore, you can buy according to the "rule of twos" and shoot the dog #### out of them without worry for spares. I can't over-state this enough. I LOVED my UMP .45, but was terrified of breaking even one tiny part on it for fear of lack of replacement parts. There is no such similar concern with the clone.

Good luck with your mod.

I e-mailed sl8-de, and it turned out that they were using HDPS UMP lower, stock block and folding stock. I think it tallies up to 720 USD. It looks like the HERA stock is the best bet right now actually.

I guess I can always dye it right?

sorry, ive wanted to know this my self for a while, and read about this sorta stuff on usa sites, didnt think it was easily obtainable up here, just a few questions though ,
to get the short barrel. do you get it cut, or buy a ump one or what ?
and since the folding stock doesnt lock, does it easily swing open when shooting with it in the folded postion ?

My was dyed as well, only issue is the red logos on the gun become hard to see, otherwise it's top notch. Obviously buy a factory black one if you can find it and save the hassle. The barrel was cut by a gunsmith and the flange soldered on. The flange came from a place in the states. Around $50 IIRC. Now I just need the folding stock to complete. I'm in no rush to do that though, IMO cutting the barrel and getting it black is a huge improvement in itself.

dont you have to get a whole new frame in order to get the folding stock on it. im not too familiar with this conversion. but i remember readings lots of parts from the ump need to be fitted. no ?

Ya I am looking for a USC as well. Anyone know where a New one is for sale?

By the way. Anyone have any reliability problems after shortening the barrel. I know other types of firearms have reliability problems after having the barrel length changed so drastrically.

Italian sporting goods has one for sale. $2400. They used to go for $1950 before our dollar tanked.
