Ramblings on Gun Deals

Only did one so far as a seller ... no problems, and like Situation 1, I shipped at full price ( received in advance) + an amount we thought should cover shipping $ 25.00 ( actually turned out to be $ 32, but no problems, I ate it. ) I do believe the buyer was pleased, as a hard case, 150+ rounds of good brass and set of FL dies were added to the deal at my pleasure! He was a great gent to deal with, no haggling, no hassle and super communications.
I made sure to inquire " where you happy with the deal" ... good photos, description of condition, open communications and prompt responses, doing precisely what you say you're going to do .... all pays off big-time !

I can echo Rick's comments wholeheartedly!! Most deals [many of 'em] have been very positive, and I have had a great rapport with almost everyone I have dealt with. It is very nice when a gunnut lets you know when goods you have shipped arrives, gives peace of mind, at least. Being courteous and prompt goes a long way, regardless of which end of the deal you're on! Regards, Eagleye.

Shiping a rifle is never more than abotu $30, that is not alot of money.
Actually I just shipped a Rifle back East..........It cost almost 90 Bucks:eek:
It was sent Xpress.....I upgraded the shipping at my expense as I knew the Buyer really wanted it ASAP.
I have been lucky I guess ALL the deals I've done on here and on other sites have went well...NO Complaints:)

I have been very happy with gun nuts. I did have one problem on the old gun canada site(sent money, no part). I was going to sell some stuff this spring when work is done and i have time. I havent sold yet here. Some of your stories are making me nervous. One deal with eagle eye i was slow paying, week 1/2, do to camp life. Its probly obvious Iam not so good on the computer. the last few trades and things i bought we traded phone numbers, that was sure nice. Just my 2cents. Curtis

I finally agreed and shipped it to him and I never even got a "hey it arrived, thanks" from the guy.
Surprisingly, that happens alot. Like how hard would it be to confirm that the package arrived and the deal was satisfactory. Plain rude!!

Almost all rifles I have sent have fallen around the $30 mark, with insurance. But that wasn't XPRESSPOST..:D

Anyone remember the buyer that was offering 20% of the asking price, because his "gunsmith" charged too much to install it. Sorry I still get the chuckles thinking about it

all the deals that i've been in were great. i always try to let the seller that my package has arrived. more out of curtisty.very seldom will i try to haggle a price as most are good to start with

I was told a few days ago i should sell this guy my rifle cheap because i had no trader rating thats what you do to get one.

I laughed so hard and told him to pound sand. Im not going to pay to have a rating. Im going to do honest deals to get one........

That's how it works here. Newbies have to give us free guns in order to build up a trader rating. I couldn't start charging for stuff till I had at least 25 positive rating.

I'll PM you my address and will expect a three day inspection period as well.

I'm serious!

Dude, this thread is 3 years old.

SuperCub, how the sand pounding going. :D

I've done a few deals on CGN, so far all have been positive although I did have to wait about a month to get one rifle. I paid promptly after closing the deal.

a good way to cut through the negotiations is to simply ask''what is your bottom dollar, shipped''?

The only one that was sour was the first one. Paid 600 plus shipping. Got the gun and there was rust on the barrel in three places. When I sent a message to the seller, I was asked to check the rest of the gun. he eventually invoked the five day rule and I got no satisfaction. I asked an administrator for an opinion, and he suggested a negative. That done, he gave me a negative as the buyer. Something about sweaty hands and on giant tirade. I got more feedback with a -1 than you could believe. Eventually an administrator removed both negaitves.
Buddy eventually responded to a part request. Wanted $20 + shipping of $1.95; he realized we had differences in the past but that was now out of his mind. Whan I suggested that he just ship it to me and we would be square, I never heard from him again.
Others have been more that fair.
As a side note to shipping, consider Canada Post Venture one for small business men which we all are. It essentially works out to Regular post less 5% and you get expedited shipping.

So far always a good thing. If anything most of us here tend to be cautious in our pricing except for a few. If the price is real good I dont even bother to haggle. All I want is a FAIR price. Except for a scope that was sent damaged and was not what it was sold as, I am very happy with the EE and shop it regularly. I hate to miss a good deal.

For the most part I have been super happy both as a seller and buyer.
There have been a few times that I have been amiss and forgotten to ship something ( or a payment) but a PM normally has gotten things going again.
The post office srewed up only once or twice, most times it's good.
I had some computer issues a while back that through my life into a into a
hellstorm, but lately things have been good, and stuff gets shipped/received no sweat.
That reminds me, I have to PM a certain member in NL and find out what happened to the stuff I traded a 10 gauge for!!

I have only had one on here and it was great. It was my first firearm purchase of any kind and YukonHunter basically taught me the process and I learned a new trick. He was great and we talked on the phone a few times so we knew what was going on all the time. Very positive. Thank you.
