Russian SKS45 long thread.

Took me half an hour to get through, but my order for a hand select is confirmed as well as another little goody. Hope I get them soon :D

They sounded flat out when I called!
 
I phoned up Proline Shooters in Calgary to see if they happened to get any SKS rifles from IZH (since they are listed on the baikal site) Sadly they dont have any SKS rifles.

I wanted to pick up an extra while I wait for Frontier to ship my 2 :(

reliable and italian , both in vacouver are on the list but they too have none and no plans to order any .

no answer when i called , lock, stock and barrel and langley guns.

oh, Guns & Things was also listed, although I didnt bother phoning them, when I was in there (now Things Military) just before Christmas, Bill told me he no longer sells anything that requires a PAL. He only carries black powder "replicas" which is too bad.

Just phoned them (Baikal), lady said they are not selling them at the moment to private persons only to the distributers. But they probably will be allowed to sale to private persons at the end of February. They are expecting another batch by that time...I've asked them whom did they sell the first batch she told me Northern Tackle (big distributer) got most of them. I phoned to NT and ask them whom in alberta did they ship? The lady at NT was very friendly. I was told that they shipped the SKSes country wide and she gave me couple of stores in Alberta, but NONE of the stores in Edmonton :confused: :mad: ordered from NT. She also told me that the biggest byuer was Frontier from SK prvince. She also mentioned that they expecting second shipment form IZH in a month or so...

Very interesting info, so, another shipment in February cool. I might be calling Baikal then!

thanks , i already went to the yellow pages and called them , they said they are wholesaler and dont sell to public .. they did not sell any to the vancouver dealers. :(
 
those member living near victoria on the vancouver island , island outfitter has 4 IZH SKS remaining . $250 each.
 
This is a huge thread and I have been neglectful in keeping up with it. I was aprox. 100 in the SIR list, but I have not heard anything. Did I miss something?

I just phoned SIR and the lady said that the price was going to stay the same as when you ordered it, and they are comming in soon.Didn't give a date, but I imagine they will getting a big hunk of the Bell shipment.It's nice to see some nice Soviet arms flooding into the country like this[It was worth the wait].If I don't hear from SIR in the next week or so ,I will cancel and try somewhere else.It will be great to compare the Soviet SKS to the early model Norinco, I have.
 
Frontier called me today. The credit card I supplied when I placed my order for two hand selects no longer exists. I gave them my new card number.

I was talking to a lady in the paperwork dep't, not someone up to their elbows in cosmoline, but I got the impression that they wanted to open and sort all the crates before allocating the 'select" rifles. That sounds like a real classy way to do it. I should be getting the "cream of the crop".

This explains the delays. If rifles were coming in as a series of deliveries, and they wanted to open them all before deciding which were the best, then they could not start shipping until the last ones arrived.
