Russian SKS45 long thread.

My two from Milarm showed up today! Overall impressions, they are in real decent shape, 1953 TULA arsenal, refurbished with laminate stocks. They came with a sling, cleaning kit, oiler and a couple ammo pouches each. I'm very happy with them.

Still waiting for the arrival of the one from Frontier that's in the mail, it will be nice to compare the three of them... And well, I'm not holding my breath on the one from SIR...

Cheers
Jay

Finally Recieved One Of The Three I Am Waiting For.metal Looks Good Lam Stock Is Ruff.it Is Really Tight Everywhere.installed A Tapco And A Removable 5/10 Mag.i Will Be At The Range !!!

My type 56 (fac 26) SKS has the rear sling attachment on the side of the stock. I had to remove it because it kept cutting me open when I shot. It was located up pretty far. I'm glad to see the left sides of those stocks smooth and bare :)

Like most of you, I have been waiting for almost a year for my SKS to arrive from SIR/Cabelas. I couldn't wait any longer and decided to see if my local shop happened to receive any of the IZH rifles that recently arrived. Well I lucked out and found a 1954 Tula, all matching numbers, including stock! It is in excellent shape ( for a 55 yr old rifle at least) except for a few scuffs and dings on the stock. The chromed bore is nice and clean, and it still has original blueing. I'm in the process of disassembly right now, but I will post pics when/if I get it put back together. Now I have to decide if I want to cancel my SIR order.

Actually, I'm not sure if the barrel is chromed. It is a bright silver color, and looks very clean though. However, as far as I can tell the rifle has not been refurbished. I can't find any refurb marks on the receiver or the stock.

To a certian someone (you know who you are) who feels you can swear at the person on the phone and say "ship me what ever" before hanging up on them. That does not fly here and we have filed your order away (in the paper shreader). In other news 98% of the first order has been sent out. If you have not yet recieved a tracking number please email us.

Sounds to me like someone who probably shouldn't own firearms anyhow...
I had a good laugh at your response and their expense... would have been fun to see a picture of the shredded order.
Marlin - I'll re-iterate what many of have said before - the other 99.9% of us appreciate all the crap you've been through to make this happen, and thank you for putting up with our polite impatience over the previous few months (not to mention the onslaught of calls & emails asking for tracking numbers ;)

Thanks for the pics Jay - beautiful. How the !@#$ are the rest of us supposed to sleep now!!??!! ;)
Maybe tomorrow... maybe...

YEA JUST GOT MY SHIP NOTICE. I ordered ammo and it's a canada post notice. It also looked like my CC wasnt billed enough to cover what I ordered though. Also I moved and they shipped it to my old address. Good thing my parents live there. Well see what I end up with. Why do I get the feeling this wont end up good...

Just got a note from Marlin indicating mine went out by Canada Post not DHL as I'd assumed (I ordered ammo as well). Still no tracking number... the waiting is driving me insane... is this what they mean by 'going postal'?!? ;)
