We havent had a good showing of a nice bubba in a while. Well I stumbled across this on gun broker tonight. A very nice example of a '45 Longbranch :puke:
"...is an original creation rendered by a Kentucky Artist, Robert Rees."
"displaying it is the best thing a collector would choose"

Anyone got anything new thats more disgusting?

Then there was that american truck driving lady, who at a garage sale bought a large and "weird" painting for $ 5.-, that turned out to be a $ 50 million Pollack painting....

One day in the furture, these "folk art" on gun stocks will be worth $$$, just like these old duck decoys...

I find that the gold-(probably)-painted middle and front bands add a certain degree fo class to this otherwise very creative masterpiece.

Bwahahaha!!!!

Now that I think of it, I think the carved creature on the butt stock was the result of a hybridization between two famous creatures:

good lord. the thing looks like it's been skinned out already and is now really pissed off. And the claws on that thing, that's just nightmarish. We're talking El Chupacabras / Jersey Devil status here.

I never liked any attempt to alter the beauty of a natural wooden gunstock by carving or painting it. However, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I am sure that particular folk artist/hunter did his best, and was very proud of his creation :)

I think this "artist" should gouge his eyes out... I make fun of him, but who knows maybe he took the short bus to school?
