Favourite Reload for M14s

For my gun I like 40.5 Grs of IMR 4895, WLR primers, IVI brass, and 168gr matchking bullets for accuracy. I'm getting good results with it. I haven't busted into the MOA mark with my my gun consistantly but I'm close
I use the same loading but with 150gr FMJ bullets for plinking. The bullets are much cheaper than the match bullets.

it's not like this thing hasn't been discussed to death- time and again- 165-168 grain bullet, 43.9-44 grains of 748, and cci mag rifle primer- in other words the ZEDIKER match load- there's 4 pages of loads in that article alone- loads more in any reloading manual and on the net
www.zediker.com/downloads/14_loading.pdf- it's been somewhat condensed since i downloaded it in 2005, but it gives a faily extensive history and a good place to start- i also have a load for the m118 slr( special long range) but that has now disappeared from the net-
actually, it's yahoo, and you type in m14 match loads, for those that are challenged- then you look for zediker , and open the pdf- let it load, and then you can print it- you won't get every word, however as the copy exceeds the 8.5 width, but you get enough and the tables come out intact

M14 reloads
The load I am using at present in my M14 Norinco is the US standard loading.
It consists of 45.7 grains of Hodgon Bl C2 behind a 147 grain FMJBT (a pull down boolit ) lit up by a CCI NATO #34 primer all wrapped up in an IVI case.
The NATO # 34 primer has a harder cup to resist trapped firing pin hits, it's brissance ( relative strenght ) is comparable to a CCI 250 mag primer.
THIS IS NOT AN ACCURACY BUT A LOAD DESIGNED BY NATO STANDARD TO SUPPLY STANDARD VELOCITIES IN GAS OPERATED WEAPONS AT PORT PRESSURES THAT MEET OPERATIONAL RELIABILITY STANDARDS.

My fav that is inexpensive ant fun to shoot because it needs to be hand cycled. It's using a 110 gr plated bullet from Frontier using the "THE LOAD" by C.E. Harris using Red Dot. You gotta google that too so I can be absolved of any responsibility
. I've been using Trail Boss as the powder instead. I've said enough.

43.0grs of WC-735 in a commercial case with a 147gr FMJBT.
it looks like he's somewhat condensed the article to conserve bandwidth- the whole table is missing - i'll try to give it to you in a nutshell- powders were 3031, 4895, 4064, ww748, and blc 2- slug was 168 smk seated to 2.8 oal , primers were br210 and cci250m
basically, it goes like this-3031 , 39 to 41 grains, best in his rifle was 41.3 , 2529fps. spread of 23, and velocity deviation of 7

I use 42.5 of H4895 for the Hornady FMJBT with CCI 200 primers and IVI brass. It's hard to find IVI brass and the Hornady FMJBT are always dried up. So I just end up paying extra for 168 HPBT Match from any manufacturer that is available at the store and stick it with 41.5 grains of H4895.

Better then me, the 'cheap' remington 150gr pills run roughly $25. And as far as I can tell it don't get cheaper then that.
Sierra 150 gr match kings are $28.
