Wow....$99 pistol....Norinco M213

Isn't it the same gun with a different barrel? I wouldn't be surprised if the parts are interchangeable to a certain extent.

I was wondering the same thing about ??700 posts ago. In a nutshell, I think for these pistols (Toks and Norkarevs) there are 3 magazine types. Long, long with spacer inside, and short. The Tok pistols use the long mag for the 7.62x25mm, a long with spacer inside for 9mm, and the Nork(M-213) have a short mag, with a spacer inside the frame.

The ejection port is shorter on the M-213, has a safety, and the removable trigger group is somehow different, as well as the extractor. And maybe the barrel bushing. This is all IIRC, so it could vary a bit.

I had thought to get the M-213 and play gunsmith, but ended up getting a Tokarev to keep the M-213 company.

This has been answered in this thread, but it was a while ago - search on one of the four or five posts I made.

This gun has a lot of differences with the TT-33 and 54-1. It can't be converted to 7.62x25, nor to 38 Super or 9x23.

I know "Clark" from my Norinco 54-1 38 Super conversion. He's a cool guy who's considered a nutjob by the Fudd element. He has poked around at CGN too.

Anyways, it was easy - remove the grips, pop out a pin, and the spacer falls out. The standard wider mag then works fine. The hard part is re-installing the grips (fiddle, fiddle). You really should remove them anyways, as there is a lot of oil you can't clean out without removing them.

Unlike the 54-1 and TT-33, the M213 is not a feasible candidate for conversion to 7.62x25 or 38 Super. The mag conversion is dead easy, but there are other differences (from Clark):

- ejection port is too small (can be opened up);
- the hammer group is different (is farther forward). The ejector "Shoulder" has to be moved back; and
- there is a protrusion on the bottom of the breech face that runs into the hammer group. The M213 hammer group housing has a relief cut for this. You could either cut the protrusion off the slide or put a relief cut in the hammer group.

Not worth it.

WTF??!?!?! How is it that myself and a few other members here ordered our guns in the end of January and we are still only at the processed stage?

What the hell is going on here? People that order the $99 gun are being bumped ahead of the rest of us?

Your order went from processed to in your mailbox in 5 days. I am at over 3 weeks since being processed and the CFO does not have any record of a transfer even being started.

I hope I don't come off as sounding mad at you rudar lol because I'm not at all. I am just a little bit confused is all.....

Apologies :D

But would it be the CFO or the CFC that would have a record of the transfer being started? I thought these things went to the CFC first, and then sometimes got bounced to the CFO? But what do I (or anyone, for that matter...) know of the mysterious ways the gubmint bureaucracy works (or doesn't)?

i ordered jan 20th and only have one of my two m213's processed

Awwwww.... now you're just making me want to prove you wrong when my Norc M213 arrives. I've got a Norc 54-1 already and Snap-Caps in 9mm and 7.62x25. I think I might just try swapping parts and cycling Snap-Caps through the actions. If that goes well, off to the range to try live ammo and see if parts are interchangeable. Bottom line, if the slides and trigger groups are interchangeable, then I'll be shooting 7.62x25 out of my M213 frame. I also have a 1945 stamped Tokarev frame that might throw in to the Frankenstein mix.

I wasn't looking for a challenge, but I hate being told something isn't possible.

Ordered Feb4, got my postal notice today. 5 weeks, my buddy was 5 weeks as well. that is good service. My last pistol from Wholesale took 4 weeks. Not bad for 2 dudes with a bunch of hungry gun owners breathing down their necks.
Thanks CanAmmo!!! I wouldn't say my friends pistol is all that stiff considering it's new, how sloppy do you guys want it?

got a letter from the CFO and apparently they wont transfer to my name until i get my ATT? I didnt relise this was the case. The CFO said I can fax my membership to my local shootingrange to them and they send me one or something along those lines, a new way of doing it instead or the applications and all, anyone done this?

Vader z, not only is changing this pistol to 7.62x25 impossible but, it is by the very nature of who you are, doubly impossible for you to ever even hope to achieve in just your dreams. You will not accomplish this futile dream of yours. Stop now! If you attempt this project it will end in defeat and ignominy and you will be shunned by your fellow Gunnutz.
Do you still wish to attempt the impossible? Think well on what lies before you, consider wisely and then render unto your brethren your answer and pledge.
BUT BEWARE THE PATH YOU CHOOSE FOR FROM IT THERE IS NO TURNING BACK. Should you do so you will henceforth be know as Vader z, The Accomplisher of Naught

Norinco M 213: First Impressions

Slide tough to pull back with hammer down, magazines don't eject as powerfully as I like, not a fan of the recoil spring assembly, haven't fired it yet. I like the weight and how it looks. I might replace the hand grips... So far, I am still impartial, but each time I disassemble/reassemble, I get to know it a little better. Had a little difficulty feeding and ejecting snap caps, that might be related to weak springs in mags that came with pistol, though, standard rounds fed fine. Now, to the range!

I guarantee NOTHING on this planet looks as bad as my Norc 54 (7.62x25) that I bought from Lever Arms in 2007 for $150 plus GST and shipping. The thing must be some sort of gray-market import because it has proof marks for an importer in California that were stamped over and crossed out. Maybe the boat from China got rerouted from San Francisco to Vancouver????

It is ugly as sin, but it makes a loud enough bang with the 7.62 to get fellow shooters coming over and asking, "what is that thing?"

I bought a crate of 2280 rounds from Marstar for $225 and it's taking FOREVER to shoot all this stuff.

I will upload pics of a comparo and conversion if my M213 ever gets here from Canadaammo. :)

Got mine today - greasy lil' bastage, but looks to be much better executed than I would have expected. Came w/two mags, both numbered to the gun. Tore it down, ruined three old pillowcases getting the 15 fl. oz. of slime out of 'er. Next, the range and some blam blam blam!

A lot of gun for $99.00. I'm starting to think I need another. Many, many thanks to Can Am for this skookum deal.
