Wish people would read the rules before posting. I don't think its as rare as he thinks. I'd pay about 6-650$. Be nice to have one but not at 800$+ Anyone else have one...post some pics, I love those Irish Enfields!!

the last one in EE the that was still in the wrap went for less then 600 IIRC. There are many much more desirable and valuable collector pieces on the market for half that money.

They're not that rare in the wrap, and that is their only collectability point. Out of the wrap, they are downright common and are average priced. I think there's a WW2 Savage, still in the wrap, for under a grand, which, IMHO, would be much more desireable.

If it is still in wrap, how do you know you are not buying a beat up junk in a sealed bag?

Because the wrap is the original wrap rifles were wrapped in when they left the factory. If all is right, the rifle should be in mint, brand new condition. It would be never fired except for factory tests.

fair price as I got 800.00 for one two years ago at a gun show and it was a dealer that bought it so he thought he could make money.
They only made so many and I would bet that a lot were unwrapped. I got 2 from Century when they had them and I think they were about 325.00 each if my memory is correct and yes I still have one unwrapped.

You can tell I'm not a proper collector, but having a rifle in the wrap? That's kinda like a sub you but in the frige for twenty years & have no clue as to what kind it is, other than the pimply faced kid who told you it was tuna fish...:p;)

The wrapped price is due to the fact there are so many that got unwrapped, shot, stripped, coated with poly or true oil, and god help me, bubba'd with a giant rubber butt pad.

It's a bit high, but it might come down. You never know.

I think it is for sale but not really for sale....Will sell for the right price. Kind of reminds me of stuff on sale @ the Edmonton CHAS gun show.

It's always the same stuff everyear, guess they can't sell it either on there.

Their price is what people have consistently been willing to pay, and for some reason it's fairly high.

I personally have zero interest in something sitting in a wrapped package, and particularly something that was never accepted into service, unlike the M1909 Argentines that were sold years ago in similar unfired condition.

A dealer here on this forum (Can't say who because it was his own :)) had a new one go for $650+tax.

So ya, $800 is pushing it.

Also, auctions are forbidden here.

9 years ago Le Barons sold some still wrapped (in this time Le Barons was still a good store, nowadays it's Crap) for $225.00 at the Toronto Sportsmens Show...
I looked at the guns, some were unwrapped, but I decided not to buy because my 1950 Long Branch is so much nicer...

Well he's letting the price start at $800 and going from there...! clearly against the EE RULES...

Note for the guy.. If you want to auction your rifle off, then take it to an auction and pay your 30% fee.
