Figured I'd post this in here, as it's most pertinent to IPSC / IDPA shooters

Who here put on thier holster and practised his technique after watching his video?

What a difference having such a high index makes.

you mean sweeping the remotely operated camera? you also noticed how he talks about switching to his Production gun right?

Seth forogt to properly intruduce this gentleman...
Travis Tomasie was second at the World Shoot in Ecuador and first at the World Shoot in Bali.
He is the World Champion for Standard division shooting. Surprisingly enough, he's also a very nice guy if you meet him.

So who wants to Nitpick him now?

I remember some comments on Youtube,...some guys started poking at his technique,...LOL,...they had no idea who he was! AMU would not pay a shooter to shoot and then film him without considering safety issues.

He is indeed a very nice young man. I always want to pinch his cheek every time I see him; he's so polite! And he's freaky-fast.

Travis may be a great shot and a great reloader but his safety practices need some work. I agree with the comment about sweeping the camera. It may have been a remote or it may not, we do not know. Even if the camera was a remote watch the video again. The gun goes from being pointed down range, to sweeping the camera with a mag in it to what appears to me to be pointing up range. He did at least a 180 on direction of the muzzle from the direction that he was firing!!!!!!!

You will also notice the camera angle changes,...I am no expert on movie making,..but I think that is the end of one take and the start of another,....in between this time many things can happen.....it is why I think most people in the movie business are either magicians, or witches and warlocks.:D:evil:

I nominate you to go down there and straighten those folks out. Show em' how its done...LOL

Some people have worked on a 360 range before...

Seems like a unicorn, I know...

But when many people's only training is from dad, elmer fudd, or the internet, the get nervous seeing people "muzzle the remote operated camera." LOL.

You would tell the journalist in the kill house with the SAS that he is in danger, and correct the SAS for sweeping him too I bet.

Have you heard of the "Prince of Wales" exercise they do?

If you are making training videos or placing videos on the internet you do not know who will be viewing them. In my opinion, safety practices should not be open to question. Especially if you are professing to be a professional. You do not know who will be looking at these videos and you should not be showing anything that can be deemed questionable or unsafe. There are enough people out there already that are not safe, they do not need to be influenced by someone who's safety practices are questionable.
