Russian SKS45 long thread.

Here's a few tips that have helped me:

1. Make sure your auto-focus sequence is completed- a beep or a green flashing icon on the screen will come on(different cameras will take different times - this is the biggest problem with most people).

2. Don't use the flash if you don't need to - turn it off. This is why you get the object to reflect light, especially off metal parts (this does not apply to most pictures that do not reflect light).

3. Use your telephoto function to take close-ups.

4. Make sure your auto-focus is targeting what you want to be in-focus in the picture - also controls the auto exposure setting.

5. Take many pictures of the same thing - you just delete the ones you don't need or like.

6. Don't forget to crop your pictures using a photo editor.

7 Depending on the camera, familiarize yourself with some features such as blur reduction, etc.

8. Don't forget to use an appropriate background color - very important to bring out the details of the object.

9. Use the maximum number of pixels (resolution) available (you can reduce this later on if you have maximum pixel allowed on some sites, etc).

And don't forget to read the manual from time to time and practice:)
