Norinco M4

I will get it eventually....I got the .22 conversion kit from Questar...Just need to get some .223, I only have 2 boxes.

I'm making a trip up to Grandlunds tomorrow before I head back down, so if you want, I can pick you up some...that is, if you are going to be at the range.

Got my M4 from Frontier Arms yesterday. Amazing really. Ordered on Saturday and recieved it on Wednesday. That's what I call service!!! Sweet rifle. Can hardly wait to get it to the range. Came out of the box clean as a whistle. Nice finish. Solid construction etc. Looks mean as hell especially with the 30 round magazine in it. The LAR15 magazines fit perfectly. I ran some snap caps through it, and they just fly when the bolt is cycled. Now to order some goodies for it.

I finally got out to the range today to fire my M4 for the first time. Absolutely sweet. I used all the different magazines and had no feeding problems or any misfires at all. I found that when using the peep sights I had to adjust quite a bit on the rear sight as I was shooting low all the time. Left and right were right on. Good groupings. Nice solid rifle. I went through one magazine of 10 rounds really fast just for fun. Pure joy.

If you are shooting high or low I think you ned to be adjusting the front sight..glad to hear your gun ran well..

M4 Iron Sight

How do I adjust the front sight up or down on the M4. Is it adjustable? Seems to be a hole below the front pin sight. Is there an allen screw or something in there. I am still shooting too low at 25 yards.

You may use the tip of a 5.56 round to depress the plunger and screw the post up or down. There is also a purpose built sight tool which is not hard to find.

Thank you so much. I just had a closer look and sure enough there is a plunger. Very small. If you weren't looking for it you would miss it. I think I turn the sight clockwise to make the pin go down and causing me to ain a bit higher. Slowly catching on to the M4 thing. I sure like this rifle.

Thank you. I just lowered the front sight. What a ##### of a job if you don't have a special tool but I did it using two small drill bit ends, one to depress the plunger and the other to rotate the sight. I set it down three notches. That should make me aim up more.

Just so you know, on a C-8 with a 14.5" barrel, one click on the front sight will move the MPI 4.7 cm, at 100 meters.

With a 20" bbl on a C-7, one click will move the MPI 3.5 cm at 100m.

If you're running a 16" bbl? each click will probably move you around 4 cm up or down at 100m.

Yup. You are right on. Thanks again. Now when I get my scope mount rail I can do this stuff all over. My little docter type reflex scope sits low so it should be O.K. on the carry handle. Why do I use the carry handle? It just looks kind of neat. IMHO
